@@JohnVelasco its really funny if you ever tried the LG V30, its the same CPU as your S8+ but its onboard microphones (with its stock recording software) is EASILY as good as any of these mikes you showed! i was blown away by its voice recording quality. had it for 2 weeks. it records a very strong, natural sound without the overcompression and with really low noise. podcast quality any day.

From what I understand, you can use that, but you have to be careful with the sound. It picks up sound from everywhere. Make your recordings in a quiet place.

You missed the Zoom H1 or H1n as a great external mic for a phone. Get a rig and mount the Zoom on it with the phone and you've got a high quality audio input for your phone.

I don't have the greatest phone, it's a Motorola g6 play. I plan on buying a Canon rebel t6i but with zero videos made, i feel I need to create a few videos before investing in equipment like that. I'm buying a 8" ringlight phone tripod thing and trying to figure out which microphone works with a Motorola because it seems a lot of microphones I'm seeing on amazon don't mention Motorola in compatible phones🙄 I feel a hesitation to buy a microphone that clips on to you just because I feel it would look odd and wouldnt work with alot of my clothing choices lol

The cheap way to record a concert is to use any decent mic and cover it with a thick item of clothing.
