As a physician (internist) who grew up in the house of a nutritional biochemist and a food microbiologist, I commend the fact that you are spreading great information that most practicing doctors should know. Thank you!
Even as a biomedical PhD and a nutrition coach myself, I find your videos incredible informative, clear and educational. Keep going!

Thank you SO much for your Authority Nutrition site and these videos. I'm a High School Physiology teacher [23years] and have dreamed of a site [for years] that focused nutrition as a science, grounded in PubMed research. Thank you for putting true science [instead of anecdotal evidence and mere testimonials] back into Nutrition. It is a breath of fresh air and super helpful for my class! In fact, we did our first ever Authority Nutrition Symposium at our high school last year [Scripps Ranch High School, San Diego, CA]. Thanks again!

Great video. The most compelling graph I saw as a health promotion professional was one showing that the rates of obesity climbed with the same trajectory as the rise in the consumption of sugar and as fat consumption fell. It is obvious that sugar is the main reason we are getting obese - not fat.
@HealthlineMedia8 жыл бұрын
What also increased in line with those two graphs is total calorie intake. We increased sugar consumption, but not replacing fat. Fat has remained the same since the 1960s.

Great video. Sound is perfect. Could do with a nice backdrop. I eat these foods every day which account for about half my daily calories. My weight has been stable for years despite the high fat content of these foods. They keep me full throughout the day which stops me from binge eating. They really are great foods.

Baker's Chocolate sometimes doesn't have any sugar. Another way to get the benefits of chocolate without sugar is cocoa powder. Make sure it is not "dutched."

+Authority Nutrition You miss the point. Chocolate, just like tea (same class of anti-oxidants) contains flavonoids. Some of the proteins in diary bind to these anti-oxidants making it impossible for them to be absorbed.

But egg yolks do increase cholesterol levels immediately after consumption..... These peaks in serum cholesterol levels are dangerous as they get deposited in coronary arteries
@majorlionzion6 жыл бұрын
atul bhute Chicken eggs are high in cholesterol, but the effect of egg consumption on blood cholesterol is minimal when compared with the effect of trans fats and saturated fats. The risk of heart disease may be more closely tied to the foods that accompany the eggs in a traditional American breakfast - such as the sodium in the bacon, sausages and ham, and the saturated fat or oils with trans fats used to fry the eggs and the hash browns. Most healthy people can eat up to seven eggs a week with no increase in their risk of heart disease. Some studies have shown that this level of egg consumption may actually prevent some types of strokes.

Yet you gloss over the high methionene and cystiene counts excessive in animal foods that convert to homocystiene and the high choline content which depending on your entereotype convert to TMAO in the gut and also the nature of most cancers being methionene dependant, I would not ever consider eggs a healthfood, even if some people get no raise in LDL from the dietary cholestrol others do. The anachronic acid is xenobiotic in it too and causes low level inflammation in the brain. Not to mention IGF-1 and the endotoxin load of all animal fats compared to plant fats and the result mitochondrial and insulin signalling problems. The xenoestrogens - that change blood levels of estrogen and suppress testosterone.
@NickTWO1118 жыл бұрын
You didn't get any of that correct. Seriously, it's methionine, cysteine, homocysteine, enterotype, dependent. I get it you have your vegetarian, vegan agenda or whatever. However, you're being incredibly disingenuous probably unbeknownst to even yourself. First off there's excessive methionine in plant foods. specifically nuts, seeds, all forms of soy products, sweet corn, spinach, broccoli, garlic, mustard greens, green peas, cauliflower, bamboo shoots, sprouts, asparagus, butter lettuce, okra and beans. In fact the food with the greatest concentration of methionine comes from brazil nuts. But you don't even go into methionine is an essential amino acid. One our bodies must have it to function normally but cannot synthesize it on its own. Both methionine and cysteine play key roles in protecting and promoting the health of your connective tissue, joints, skin, hair and nails. Both are building blocks of protein and they also have potent detoxification properties, helping your body to excrete heavy metals. Not to mention almost all of the studies of over-consumption of methionine leading to cancer growth were done on mice and rats. Then you go into high Choline e.g. eggs significantly increases TMAO over time. Which is supposed to increase the risk of heart disease. Yet numerous studies have failed to find any such association. For example, a meta-analysis of prospective studies involving a total of 474,000 participants followed from 8 to 22 years published in the British Medical Journal found no association between higher egg consumption and C.H.D. or stroke. An analysis of data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Study found an inverse association between egg consumption and stroke, and a cohort study from Japan found that consumption of animal products including eggs was associated with reduced risk of death from stroke. The list goes on, I would recommend doing more research.

Why did you make this video. EVERYONE ELSE is saying the same thing. You need to be more informative with more new research findings. This viceo is most repeditive.
