As an organizer, I have found in my own home it's harder because I "dont see my own stuff". I decided to use the same trick I use when organizing a client's space: I take a photo. It's amazing how it helps your objectivity. After taking several photos, I look at them closely and analyze what I'm seeing that needs help.

My "In-A-Pinch" Meal is delivery. Could you do a series on cleaning for people in wheelchairs?
@capyboppy4 жыл бұрын
Brent: I have asked in the past a couple of times about methods to help folk with disabilities including extreme fatigue like I have. Unfortunately it is very rare Melissa replies to the comments let alone gives follow up advice. She is a great businesswoman but if someone asks viewers to comment after a video, one would think there would be at least a few responses. In our situation it is nigh impossible to keep our homes clean and tidy; so all the help we can get is needed.
@deedee678884 жыл бұрын
Yes! I'm not sure if Melissa - the cleaning genius that she is - is the right resource, though. Maybe she knows of one, though?
@capyboppy4 жыл бұрын
@@deedee67888 To be honest most of us just work out the best way we can; but no harm in asking those who do it all the time like Melissa if there are any techniques we haven't come across. I suppose it is difficult too for someone who doesn't have health problems to fully understand.
@liliannamathers34284 жыл бұрын
As a disabled person, I wouldn't expect that she go learn how to clean from a wheelchair, to then teach us. I would start with a site that is specific for us, honestly. People who have lived that at and figured out the best way to do it are better able to help us. I hate not being able to keep my house clean. I know everyone feels worse since there is an inch of dust on top of high shelves, and wish insurance covered having someone come in even once a month to clean. It's enormously frustrating to need help that just costs so much.
@capyboppy4 жыл бұрын
Lilianna: your suggestion of learning to clean from a wheelchair is EXACTLY what I would recommend. Not only would it give ‘ablebodied’ people an idea of what it is really like; but it would gain the respect of disabled people and would bring ‘hits’ to their page/website. Although my health issues are different to yours, I hear you 💯 about hating it when not being able to keep the place clean. It’s a never ending job.

When I was first married I had a cookbook with 500 recipes you could make with Campbell's soup. Keep a few cans of chicken & tuna avaible or ground beef (cook ahead and freeze?), boil some pasta, noodles or rice, add a can of soup (mushroom, celery, chicken, or tomato...), add seasoning. Throw in a salad and/or a frozen vegetable and dinner is ready in 30 minutes! Small cans of evaporated milk or 8 oz milk boxes that don't need refrigeration are also handy to keep around.

My "in a pinch" meal is Beyond Burgers!!! These are amazing! I can't eat beef any longer (my stomach no longer cooperates) and until Beyond Burgers came out, I really hadn't had a "beefy" meal in 15 years. Beyond Burgers changed that - they really taste like beef, so I'm thrilled. I grab them out of the freezer, pop them into the microwave to thaw (I use the "custom defrost" on mine) and while they are in the microwave, I heat up the frying pan, grab the burger buns and all the stuff we'll put on them. About 3 minutes per side and voila! a delicious burger is ready!!! I love 'em! -- And I'm not a paid spokesperson, I don't have any stock in the company or anything - just a very satisfied (and full) customer. Yum.

Oven-roasted anything tastes amazing, and the oven does the cooking for you. And if you line the dish with parchment, cleanup is easy-peasy. I roast a LOT of bell peppers, tomatoes, zucchini, portobellos, whole garlic heads. Sometimes I put it in a soft warm corn tortilla for veg tacos. Oven-roasted chicken or salmon, easy. Just season it up, drizzle with olive oil, pop it in, and done. Baked potatoes with romaine lettuce that I seriously munch like chips is my easy go-to.

My go-to homemade dinner is spaghetti. I use Dreamfields for the pasta, because my husband is pre-diabetic. I use store brand or inexpensive sauce as the base. I especially like basic mushroom sauce. Then I add a can of diced tomatoes that already comes with basil, garlic and oregano (store brand/least expensive on that, too). Add a small can of drained mushrooms. That’s the sauce - it is vegetarian, no meat, and we love it!❤️ Thank you for your cleaning videos! It feels very supportive to me, on a subject that I can really use help with. 😎

This may be random or not your niche, but have you thought of having a “lower income video?” Hear me out lol Doing a video of the most basic of basic kit. And how to step it up. For cleaning clothes how to repurpose old clothing and the like. Or creating your solutions for lower prices. How to deodorize (I mix a couple tablespoons of fabuloso in my cleaning solutions). Idk just a thought. Especially for the times we’re currently in. Saving money but continuing cleanliness and stuff

Taco mince. Make double or triple and freeze. Meals in minutes. If I’m super lazy and I can’t be bothered to heat taco shells, I just make a nachos version with corn chips, cheese, mince, sour cream, salsa and avocado. Cheap, quick, easy. I also make scrambled eggs in bulk so my hubby can just chuck a wrap together in the morning. Butter chicken with rice is another good one. Roast lamb (slow cooker style) coz the potatoes and carrots cook with it. Chuck it all in and walk away. I used to be a huge fan of bulk cooking. Sometimes I’d do over 100 meals and snacks in one go. But I found we were getting sick of it. So now I just make meals we can triple and freeze 2 for 1-3 months down the line.

@@cleanmyspace I just ordered them from Amazon. Thanx for the helpful advice. 👍 I'm tired of cleaning eggs out of my dish sponges 🧽. I eat eggs 🥚 every day for breakfast! You gave me the perfect example!!! Lol 😆

Yes please to the hot spot video! I was quite proud of myself, because I already do the ones you mentioned today. I find cleaning the vacuum beater had really satisfying! Am I weird??

No time to fuss dinner for dinner. Aidell's chicken apple sausage, 4 potatoes peeled and quartered (or more if more people), 1 onion sliced, garlic cloves sliced (to taste), jar of sauerkraut. Oven at 350. Spray a medium-large casserole with cooking spray, layer all ingredients in the casserole with salt and pepper, cover with lid or foil, bake for 1 1/2 - 2 hours (depending on how big the casserole is). Once it goes in the oven you don't have to think about it until dinner time. Serve with crusty bread and butter. Good cooler weather meal :) Even the kids love it and 1 pan to wash

I normally have leftover rice in my fridge so a good meal is breakfast fried rice. Pan fry some leftover (leftover is key) rice until the bottom is brown and crispy, push to the side, add eggs and veggies, and mix up as the eggs cook. Also makes for a good "kitchen sink" recipe (flexible recipes that use a lot of interchangeable veggies so you can use up things that are about to go bad)

With regard to the S pattern, I am still a little confused because as the cloth gathers up dirt/grime - aren't you just smearing that on as you continue in the S? Please explain?

I don’t know if you’ve done this before but can you show us what tools you use to clean each room? For example the wall duster you used in your bedroom?

I am single but I'm in nursing school so my go-to is always to batch cook a bunch and keep things in the freezer. This really helps when I'm bored, don't wanna cook, or don't have time to cook. There's always something in the freezer. It's really similar to what you just said about the shower but in reverse: rather than cook everyday, I spend whole days cooking so I don't have to cook every night. It's a lot less stressful and it really came in handy at the beginning of the pandemic when everyone was emptying grocery stores. I still had a freezer full of different meals to choose from.

I wish I did this. It sounds like the best solution but I never get around to it. It’s a must for someone in nursing / nursing school...you work insane hours!

Be careful, unless medically necessary keto isn’t healthy :( if fat loss is hour goal then the only way is a calorie deficit! My fitness pal app is a great way to count calories until you have learned enough to become more of an intuitive eater :)

I live with disabilities and have a Home Support Worker to do most of the cleaning around the house but somehow it always ends up dirtier than when the worker arrived. My best bet right now is a step by step instruction for each room but I don't know where to start. I know that things like floorboards are not on her list of things but even dusting doesn't happen. Might you happen to already have something that gives a basic rundown that I could use (and modify as needed) to make sure things are actually getting cleaned? Many thanks for taking the time to read this.

I would love a video on how you like to start when you come in to a home to clean. As well as the hot spots. And my go-to meal is either pancakes, or grilled cheese and soup!
