I love how rather than make the anchor hate Kennedy for political reasons, the actor made it about what a playboy he was and how poorly he treated his mother.

I think this is hilarious, because people state "everyone knew where they were when they heard the news JFK was assinated". Ya know, as if everyone were devastated. This same type of statement came up from 9/11 tragedy. But, as an 8 year old from that time, I literally cannot recall that day. Though, the true gem of this bit is a news anchor taking the news personally. Apologies for my anecdote.

I was born a month (to the hour) after the second tower going down, and everyone's "I remember where I was..." story is the same. Either in the car or at work, (rarely, home sick) listening to the radio, watching the news in a break room, or someone tells them to watch the news. Every single person, without fail, has said the words "We thought it was a horrible accident, but we were watching the news when a second plane flew in, and we knew it wasn't an accident." I remember one time in college, our professor got checked. It was a sociology class, and we were talking about 9/11 in regards to memory. She shares her 9/11 memory and I pipe up "Everyone remembers where they were, but they were all in the same place. The story is the same every time. They all thought it was an accident while watching the news at work, then saw the second plane and thought to themselves 'this was no accident'" Then other students started agreeing with me, and we all told the mono-story of watching the news on 9/11/01. Apparently this was the first time the teacher realized this.

I’ve also heard that regarding Michael Jackson’s death. I didn’t even realise Michael Jackson was dead until like 2015 and when I realised he was in fact dead, it wasn’t a big moment, I didn’t really care. Those things are also always very America centric. Does everyone remember where they were when they heard the news of the Christchurch mosque shootings? I do, because I was at school in Christchurch but I doubt any Americans really paid attention to it.

@@akiraeatsguitarpicks491 Just a friendly reminder that in 2022, you're an idiot if you do anything besides assume every celebrity is an absolute terrible person. We give people money and attention based on whether they can make us laugh. There is no vetting of who is allowed to be on KZbin, and given the wide array of bad shit you could potentially learn about somebody, statistically everyone who has a platform this week will be getting dragged next week. We put strangers on a pedestal, and then crucify them when they don't turn out to be who we thought they were. But who did we think they were, really? The relationship we knowingly entered into was with a 2-d moving picture who could distract us from how miserable everything is, in 10 minute intervals. With the Ezra Miller thing going on now, some fool asked me if not being violent is setting your expectations too high for someone. Let me open a beer... _chug_ _chug_ Hold up 1 finger, I'll be with you in a moment... _chug_ _chug_ _belch_ Um... *YEP! I THINK YOUR EXPECTATIONS ARE STILL TOO HIGH* I'm not complaining about cancel culture. In fact, we should cancel more people. Cancel everyone! Being famous should be illegal. Burn the Hollywood Hills sign to the ground. We could institute UBI, so that people's binary choice wasn't increasingly becoming between being homeless, and having no privacy and being beholden to Twitter's moodswings. I'm not saying Gus doesn't deserve the "World's Worst Boyfriend" award; it's a participation trophy anyway. But there's not much I hate more than superficial moral outrage; especially from people who aren't even vegan. I eat meat, you eat meat. Neither of us google what goes on in an abattoir. We're both obnoxious hypocrites, so STFDaSTFU. You want to have your 2 minute hate? Fine. It's not like I actually care. But I learned my lesson after Louis CK, and this has happened like 5 more times since then. Just stop pretending that you're gonna care about this next month, or some ADHD boycott of one actor in one movie is for any sort of greater good, and FOR THE LOVE OF SWEET BABY JESUS IN THE MANGER, *STOP ACTING SURPRISED EACH TIME THIS HAPPENS*

@@lomacke1475 That makes a lot of sense. There's nothing disgusting about the title and the comedy is what is referred to as dark humour/black humour. If it's not your thing, that's fine, but that doesn't make it any less comedic.
