I live in Newport Beach and loved that you came and stayed here… I was so excited to hear about “The Spot” so I looked it up.. I was going to grab a friend and go, sadly they closed as of February 2023, you got so lucky… I ordered the cookbook, happy to help them and hopefully they can reopen someday?? I just found you today, obsessed with what you are saying. I just turned 60 and boy can I relate to your mom. Time to change my eating. I’m a very healthy shopper and cook, but I can see where I’m going wrong. I shop farmers markets year round (we are blessed) I will be doing more meal prep and cutting out the oils and so much more. Keep up the great work you are doing, you have a new fan 🎉

#4 probably the most underrated strategy but worth the extra seconds. I found that if I actually chew food with beans in it instead of inhaling it like I'd like to I don't get digestive upsets and then I don't try to eat to make myself feel better.

Many of those traits you spoke of, spoke to me, You feel like a freak when your mind is always obsessed with food. You realize you are not like the other kids. You become of aware of your cross to bare. I like this format of "Teacher Emme" . So much rings true. Its the emotional eating that's really difficult.

I really enjoyed this style.. it helped having a vlog alongside a whiteboard to press the points home. It might only be me but I much prefer when you called your man "my boyfriend" rather than significant other lol! he sounds lovely though and it somehow makes him more special to you which I'm sure he is! I really enjoyed seeing the teacher side of you combined with seeing practical application. I do watch your videos to the end, but I always watch them on my TV and I don’t know how to comment on there, or if it’s even possible. I have poor vision so watching on my phone doesn’t work for me, and reading comments is a mission. I only discovered your channel earlier this week and I’m thoroughly enjoying learning from you as I transition to WFPB

this was a great video, such good information, much of which I see in myself "doing or not doing" so taught me that I need to make changes, thank you for that. I am soon going to be 56 yrs old, so I also wanted to say I enjoy the videos you make with your mom. Because being this age and having a "young woman" tell me how to stay health and loss weight can really be disheartening, because menopause changes EVERYTHING about yourself. So seeing your mom talk about her experience and success is truly helpful. Thanks again.

Emmie loved your style of teaching and educating us on eating. This was so enlightening. I do pretty much want you described of eating too fast, not being in the moment and fearful of not getting to eat more later. I will adopt your recommendations for how to eat and enjoy my food with no fear as I can have more later but also appreciate when I have reached satiety.

Emmie I love your videos But HOLY COW !!!THIS IS MIND BLOWING! I am a feast or famine eater and I grew up being a member of the clean plate club "because there are kids in China starving". When I'd go out with friends I'd secretly get angry at them for ordering so much and then wasting so much when they could have at least taken it home for another meal. I am also a slow eater so people are always waiting on me anyway. LOL

Suggestion for strategy 3 - I’m a loner. I live in a new area, no friends yet, no family, no significant other. I know I’m not alone in having no one to eat with so this is where screen-free eating is so important. It’s something I’m currently working on but eating in silence with no distractions and at a table or designated eating SPOT so that you you associate eating with that spot and not with a screen habit.
