My favourite (underrated) cleaning hack is cleaning/organising my room before I travel. Coming back to that welcoming space is bliss.

In a nutshell - 1) 20 minute daily cleaning - morning and night 10 mins each 2) Scheduling deep clean on weekly/monthly basis 3) Clean the fridge everytime you do grocery shopping 4) Clean as you cook 5) Fold the Konmari way (its a specific folding method precribed by famous japanese author Marie Kondo) 6) Make a home for every item! 7) Create a declutter bag 8) Scan important items Hey! But pls do watch the whole video. ❤️ It's a treat for the soul, like always. So aesthetically and spiritually pleasing if that makes sense? Amazing work like always, Sophie! ❤️

I used to make my bed as soon as I woke up as well, but then i learned that, actually, it is very important to let your bed "breathe" every single morning at least 30 minutes after you wake up: in this way, your bedsheets will have time to 'breathe' and let go of all the trapped air from the night before. I felt like giving you this advice since i find it very helpful for my personal higene.

Absolutely correct, Emma! I also got to know about it recently. I make my bed after I am done with filling my gratitude journal, brushing my teeth, chatting with my husband, playing with my dog. If I am not doing anything and I look at an un-made bed, it makes me uncomfortable 🤷 So I do it just after I am done with all morning chores!

Sophie, you truly are a gem. Didn't realize it, but I've been doing 5 of the things you mentioned for years lol. (Great minds think alike). The other three were super great tips. For cleaning, I never leave dishes lying around, all goes to the kitchen, (even if I, on rare occasions don't do the dishes). I'm not a busy body when people visit, but at the end of the evening,, it's nothing to cart dirty mugs to the kitchen sink! The idea of waking up to dirty cups in the living room etc creeps me out. Blessings

GREAT video!! While I make our bed every morning, I open the window (even in winter) and pull the top sheet and blanket back and allow the room and bed to air out as I take a quick shower. This removes any odors from sweat as we slept. Then I make the bed. As minimalists we are also zero waste so we avoid buying packaged foods as much as possible. And we do NOT buy soda and other 'food' items that lack nutrition and value because it's a waste of $$$. And yes, we take care of what we have so we don't need to replace items. We also avoid fads and adhere to the 'a place for everything and everything in it's place'. Which saves a LOT of $$$$ because one isn't buying things they already have. Cleaning as we cook is so important. We also do the dishes as soon as we are done eating. Something Bea (Bay ya) Johnson of the Zero Waste Home also stresses.

I like to let our bed air out for at least 30mins before making it. I open windows if I can or at least turn the fan on high, and pull all the bedding back. After tea and before getting ready I can then make the bed. We release a lot of moisture while we sleep so this allows the mattress and bedding some time to release that moisture. It also helps to dry out dust mites.

Thank you for another beautiful video Sophie 🙏 I've adopted the cleaning principle of '5 minutes matters'. So, similarly to you, I try to clean up as much mess as I can while waiting for my dinner to cook. The '5 minutes matters' rule can easily turn into longer, however as I've only committed to 5 minutes it doesn't feel overwhelming to start with. Once again, a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS ON REACHING 50,000 SUBSCRIBERS THIS WEEK 🎉🎉🎉 I'm positive you'll be reaching 100,000 in no time. Blessings from Queensland, Australia 🦘🇦🇺🐨

Well done Sophie!!! I love the idea of spending 20 minutes daily cleaning while your energy levels are high. Today I tackled the bathroom drawers and found long “lost” items. Now I’m motivated to do the cabinets too. Here’s two things that helped us reduce clutter and keep track of receipts: I labeled 13 pockets in an accordion file. The first pocket I labelled “current” . The second pocket is labelled January... the third February, and so on through December. Whenever we come back from shopping, we place the receipts in the “ current” folder. When a statement comes in the mail, I check the receipts against the statement. At the end of the month I place the receipts into the appropriate month along with any statements for Mastercard, Visa, or Discover. We save all of the receipts and statements for one year, in case we need to return or follow up on a warranty . When the receipts and statements become one year old they are shredded. However, major purchase receipts, like appliances, are kept throughout the life of the appliance, in case we need warranty work done. This has really helped keep our bill paying organized! The other thing that has helped us is that I have a large envelope labeled for each year. Any pieces of paper that we think we will need for filing our taxes, are placed in the envelope. When we’re ready to file, everything that we need should be in the envelope!

Getting a high quality air purifier helps remove and prevent dust. Also breathing in clean air (pollution and bacteria/viruses) is healthier. I have a robot vacuum, so it’s very easy to keep the floor clean. I also want to get a robot mop.

I always clean while cooking haha so that I can eat straight away without having to stop to clean dishes first 😂👍 but the cleaning fridge after grocery shopping is such a good idea! Gonna try that

Valuable information - which is really required in the modern days. I think in our era of living , except breathing the rest people missed to follow . According to our own tradition and culture there are lots of examples laid by our own ancestors and family in terms of organising things and how to live but we forgot to follow or we least give importance by saying we are modern. I’m glad that You are bringing it back like gentle reminder 👍👍👍 Great work keep doing

Hi Sophie. I've started going through paper documents received in the mail and requesting digital statements for banking, retirement, health care, insurance, etc. This has really helped reduce paper clutter! I also made shortcuts in my browser to the necessary websites so I can get information immediately, instead of digging through stacks of paper.
@MalamaLife
@MalamaLife 3 жыл бұрын
Oh I love that you made shortcuts on your browser. I am sure it saves you time and effort to access those websites. I felt really anxious about the all the paper clutter, so this is a good system :) thanks Sean!

Wow! That is something I’ve been doing for years, making my bed. One tiny difference, I have to run to the bathroom first. I also remove the comforter to shake it off, clean my bed, sanitize it. Takes less than 5 minutes.

Another thing I like to do, similar to the cooking routine, is clean up on little thing while in the area. Like I'm I'm in the bathroom, wipe down the counter with an antibacterial cloth. Then the next time, do the toilet. After a shower, spray and wipe down the shower. It's really a great way to clean things up.

Loving all of these beautiful tips Sophie 💖 Thank you. I would love to see a video with your favorite clothing brands.
