Want my books for free? Go here: www.acquisitio...
The easiest business I can help you start (free trial): www.skool.com/...
If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $250,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.
Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.
Never quit,
Alex
FULL DISCLOSURE
I make content to make money - just - on a longer time horizon than most. I want to build trust with business owners so we can find the best ones and help them scale. And if they’re awesome, write them a check and go all the way as partners.

21:23 I think another important meta-skill to Alex's list (write, read, speak, math) is learning how to: Actively Listen. Too many people "hear" what they expect to be said and often miss the specifics of clear instructions because they lack the skill of listening with 100% comprehension. Can't be overstated Alex's punish vs reward lesson!

No...we know bs when we hear it Alex Hormozi Exposed ‼️‼️🤭 Actually you're not far wrong when you run the math on this as you would have to source 125 clients (in one calendar month) at $2,000 per client and so for most businesses doing daily routine business, they couldn't easily fit in 125 additional clients which is around 4 clients at $2,000 per day. So unless the business was somehow able to scale the workload capacity 😅😅😅 (yeah right unlikely for most possibly) then no it will not work. If the supplier/business has a good reputation they likely won't need your services. If the supplier/business has poor reputation, refunds and negative feedback but possibly plenty of scale potential. So yeah.... it's much more nuanced. You would also have to negotiate a 40% cut of the profit on a $ 2,000 procedure. I think Alex Hormozi needs to explain how to find such an incredible business owner to accept this offer 😂😂😂

That made us black kids excited to be in his class, what if every teacher made it that exciting to come and learn, then we will have a better future.

This is so fucking gold! I really liked the Meta skill parts, here's why. I am actually just procrastinating on writing copy for a project by watching this video... I just don't want to get back at it after a good vacation. But now I realise that I can use a reward system of sort to get myself to do the necessary (sometimes we all need a push). So I am going to reward myself to just write the first draft. This is a very all-over-the-place comment but I had to write this because I had an "AHA!" moment. Thanks uncle H!

Alex’s point about the difference between relative advantage and absolute advantage is excellent, and it’s a far better way to view your value proposition than the Silicon Valley notion of something needing to be be 10x better before anyone cares. Alex is correct that if you edge number 2 at all, you probably get 80% of the business in that segment.

Great video as always Alex. Problem for me is, I'm a disability carer who is stuck at home basically 24/7. I have no skills, no money, and no time. I would require a business model that is almost fully-automated with no startup. Hoping one day an idea slides across your desk that fits a model I can use. Cheers again mate.

don't sell yourself short bud, life happens and times can be tough but you have definitely got some skills - empathy & caring for others for starters, but probably a lot more too if you really give it some thought and aren't so hard on yourself. Life comes in waves so stay on the board, keep paddling and you'll continue getting stronger, be as ready as you can, and if you have time to watch this video then you're building more skills for when just the right 🌊 comes for you.
