Holy crap Batman! Can't believe that 2 years later (after the last post) LIftMaster still hasn't corrected their instructions that come with the unit. Thanks for the video instructions which took all of 5 minutes to program and get the unit working.

I truly appreciate your tutorial. I initially spent about a 1/2 hour trying to get this to work to no avail. The instructions included are not even correct, and when I followed your instructions, I was able to get it to work in around 20 seconds. Kudos to you!! Chamberlain needs to pay you a consulting fee so that you can help them to write instructions that work!

Thank you! We could program it to close, but not to open!!??!! I followed your steps and the only difference was the light bulb flash to seal in the code! Once we did that, it worked!! 😄

As many below have commented, the instructions with the keypad do not say to press * and #. They also state to press and hold the enter key until programmed. None of which worked. After watching your video once, I was able to program both of my garage doors with this one keypad. As my Learn button is purple, I had to hit "learn" first, then press * and # and enter code. My keypad stayed lit after blinking but was still the same concept of waiting as you describe. Thank you!

As others have commented, this video is more helpful and simple than the paper instruction provided. Also, if installing on a stucco or concrete wall, since the kit provide only screws for attachment, I'd recommend having plastic plugs available should the screws alone fail to firmly secure the pad.

Thanks, these instructions worked for me, unlike the printed ones that came with the keypad. It was necessary to hit the learn button *before* hitting # and * on the keypad.

Thanks for the video. Your instructions are better than the one that came with the 877max. First step in instructions state press the * and #, while your instructions state to press the Learn button first. Thanks for the video. It saved me hours of frustration.

This KZbin video had the correct instructions, which differed from those that came with the 877max. However, the remote units that we keep in our cars no longer work. None of the instructions mention this problem.

You may want to mention that if you would like to add another door to the same opener, just go through the steps you took to activate the first door and it will work. This little tidbit is not covered in the directions or videos. Use a different opener code, obviously.

be carefull with the instruction When you put in the 4 digit number and press enter may not work.Try again and make sure push the entry bottom again. Me when entered the 4 digit number had to push the entry bottom 3 times and it worked

Thanks for the video. I had my keypad working and my garage door opener in my car (on my rear view mirror) and when my power went out I had to reprogram my keypad. Now I can only get my keypad to work or my car opener...not both. PLEASE HELP!

Hello, I would suggest erasing all of the devices from your garage door opener by holding the colored learn button on your garage door opener down until the led goes out (appx 10sec) Then reprogram the remotes, car, and keypad,
