Good fix, i have a 1999 with the 7.4 l. With a leaky flange , is this the same how to process?
@TerenceDIY Жыл бұрын
Although that 454 is a much larger engine, the process shouldn't be that far off. I had the same engine in a 1997 Chevy Silverado. Great engine.

Thank you for this video!! I gotta do same to mines..something about the passenger side going out seems common on these trucks..im going with flowtech shorty headers hoping for no surprises

The 3 bolts to connect the manifolds to the pipe that lead down to your cats..did the new manifolds come with those 3 bolts or did u go buy those at the store yourself?@TerenceDIY
@TerenceDIYАй бұрын
The manifolds came with the studs /bolts. You can also find them in the help section at Autozone. Here is a link for the exact set. www.ebay.com/itm/285917277150?fits=Year%3A1999%7CModel%3ATahoe%7CMake%3AChevrolet&_skw=1999+Chevy+tahoe+exhaust+manifold&itmmeta=01JC4GJP49Y0V3Q4QJCD9AQP0R&hash=item4291ff6bde:g:eMMAAOSwJrxlg6P2&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAABAHoV3kP08IDx%2BKZ9MfhVJKkpi4TTCpuYxNAEY%2BsI42J7fYkSEsInN9QfN4XDBOUHnL7VwhZ9x3L3ZIHxkxv9odIbVobnmvQE3hopVNjFgRBevrRB01b4CARPxCJSDoqj%2F7jxnBAu5BoSWy4GjtX36P1XPbJwUnD%2BVMJFWuz3hNmR9nt0jPaKpvOVOgXUTzZl5uCMY47BvzOhrWKQ4gg4wAxUCUquIr%2BcACu7oGoRyjuRLPKgv5DXUDyybIzhkB39h0Ku3rcX1%2FeH6eqT41u3I3--L9GoM%2ByAhdYx55Dx4wC3VaM2k1xBC7piwIqF6W9wXkGajyRZ2Fqovs7LESaCCFY%3D%7Ctkp%3ABFBMsuLKkOFk

I have a question how and what tool you use to tighten the pesky nut that is hiding by the 02 sensor? I have a slight exhaust leak on the passengers side and can't get to that nut with my extension the exhaust pipe is at an angle blocking the way.
@TerenceDIY Жыл бұрын
Did you use a swivel? That's how I was able to get to it.
@bombillo26715 Жыл бұрын
@@TerenceDIY no did not use a swivel. Will give it another shot with a swivel. Thanks for the reply.

Did u torque all the bolts to 17 ft lb?
@TerenceDIY8 ай бұрын
Yes. Although they recommended 11 ft. lbs. on first pass and 15 lbs after. I found throughout the years that 17 ft lbs was the perfect torque specs when using grade 8 bolts ONLY. Thanks for watching.

@@TerenceDIYwhat do u recommend for the original bolts?
@TerenceDIY8 ай бұрын
No really however, if you use them, torque them down 10 ft lbs first pass and 14 ft lbs on final. They have become fragile throughout the years.

About how long did it take for you to do the whole job and where did you order your new exhaust manifold if you ordered it online any type of help would work

It took me a couple hours max and that was because I was filming the job.
