the next step for lichess should be a program that detects computer cheaters in real time and gives you a claim victory button, but instead of just a "you were cheating, you're banned" screen it makes them play out the rest of the game against alpha zero before banning them

Alpha zero is not an engine, it is a super computer from google. Even older stockfish versions were already capable of beating AZ, but ofcourse it only had 4 hours to practice. To ALL computer cheaters: 1. Has your dad taught you integrity? 2. Is you mom Ex Machina 'lady'? 3. Where is your pride and humanity? What are you?
@Draztica4 жыл бұрын
i feel like you can tell it's a cheater because of the consistent couple seconds before a move it makes, even in the opening and in tough spots
@LemmyTheCarpenter4 жыл бұрын
I see a lot of judgeful comments about cheaters, lemme tell you my story. When I was a kid my cousin showed me some online chess site and he showed me how he sometimes cheats in some matches. So i took the chess app from him and cheated all the way to 2500 rating, not sure why but it was so fun. Well it went stale after few days but let me tell you what. Before that I didn't know anything about chess, only the rules, but when I started playing with friends after that I realized I got really good at it as those patterns stuck in my head. I mean I wasn't great but I was better than my friends group and it was all thanks to me cheating and passively learning some of the patterns. So in a way cheating taught me to play chess. I don't play chess very often maybe once a year but I still open like the app used to with two Knights first. Love watching these chess videos lately and I have to admit this game vs cheater looked very boring and frustrating, no creativity whatsoever, like playing ping pong against the wall. Stafford gambit ones on the other hand are so enjoyable. I'm thinking of starting to play again and learn properly this time. Sorry for the long post. Peace out

I've never understood the point of cheating. There's nothing to gain and no satisfaction to be had.
@user-lc3on9fd9m3 жыл бұрын
Satisfaction or what is a gain and what is not is completely subjective. You may not gain any satisfaction from cheating, but they do. Maybe it's the thrill of doing something that is frowned upon, and/or they simply enjoy seeing their elo go up.

Cheaters are horrible, but their actual lines prove that no matter what strategy you pull off in chess, it's always possible for you to be beaten. Too bad this cheater wasn't smart enough to come up with the counter play themselves.
