I've been unemployed since graduation last year and I can tell you that this is gonna be a period of growth and reset. You have to focus on you and not what your employed peers are doing, and remember that having time to yourself is still a blessing. Play music really loud and dance, take up a new fun hobby, watch some shows/movies, eat yummy home-cooked food and breathe :)

For 6 plus years, I've limited my to-do lists to 3 things. It has helped my mental health so much. More recently, I've decided that one thing per day is enough and the other two are like extra credit. It is truly freeing and I'm actually getting stuff done.

im truly unemployed for the first time after years of academia and its like. oh this is weird. idk who i am as a person without school or work sometimes so yeah. i loved your little aside about domestic work because this is just how i am as a person as well and my parents are getting sooo tired of me now lmfao

1 month ago I was fired horrifically from a job I worked at for 4 years. I dont know what to do, but Im making goals and trying to understand what working for myself means. Its awesome to know that I have a new found freedom, but after nearly 20 years of always working for someone, and fulfilling this sick and twisted capatilist "grind" mindset - I HAVE to reset. Its comforting to know Im not alone.

Repairing an attention span deficit I recently developed. Interferes with my jobs and hobbies. Triggering myself, then disciplining myself through commitment to establish the habit. Grounding into my pinky toes and elbows so I may improve my ability to sit stationary. I’m a mystic-Christian monk.

I completely understand how you feel; I graduated in 2020 and was unemployed for a year (as I no longer got work in my temp job at uni due to system changes) and ended up spending 2 ½ years doing a min-wage admin role (although now I'll be starting a new job in 2 weeks time in an admin related role for the council). I guess this experience taught me that sometimes, things don't go to plan and you kind of have to try to figure yourself out (which is what I am doing still haha). Life works out different for everyone and it is OK. ❤

I used to love making bread when I had a family to bake it for and the kids loved eating it. It never hung around and in fact, it barely had time to cool most of the time. I never tried anything that exotic though adding raisins to it was always a winner.

I'm adding reading at a cemetery to my list of things to try this year, awesome video! I relate with the dilemma of how we choose to identify when we're unemployed I got a job straight out of uni, worked for three years but I've now been unemployed since the beginning of the year, it feels easier to isolate myself to avoid the dreadful "what do you do for work" question, but I picked up hiking and I meet new people all the time, and it's great. I'm still learning not to tie my work to my worth.
