For resetting EQs, you´d be quicker using the reset button on the left hand side of the surface. For bringing up the GEO on the faders, there´s also a dedicated button located on the right hand side of the mixer close to the FX 2 button. When you´re not sure, if a channel is assigned to LR or a specific mix, just press the assign button on the surface and all channels sel buttons will light up (if they are assigned that is),

It would be really cool if you could do a mixer comparison between let's say the top five digital mixers under $7,000 and maybe put a recording of a band through or have a live band play to see how they compare with sound quality and ease of use in a live environment to see which ones are really the easiest to navigate for volunteers. But of course which ones are more reliable.

Hi James, I like your content and have learnt so much from you. After routing the stream auxes to the matrix, how do you get the stream matrix out for broadcast into a switcher like the Blackmagic extreme?

Select source channel you want processing -> copy -> select destination channel -> paste

Hey James I appreciate your content, do you have a lot of great ideas in tricks of the trade which help out greatly. I have a question that maybe you can't answer, but why do so many of these companies put touch screens on their digital mixers and then everybody that buys one says you might as well use an iPad it's so much easier. Why don't they just make the touch screen like an iPad, to me it kind of defeats the purpose of having a touch screen. Just venting lol

Hi! If we have another person for broadcast and uses ipad can he instead use an 1 stereo aux mix for broadcast and can he have different processing and levels?

If all the auxs are set to stereo, surely there would not be enough output channels to accommodate all those aux mixes? Or maybe I'm missing something!

For XLR outputs, it depends on how many IO expanders you have on your stageboxes and which model (5-6-7) you have. But there's also other digital outputs like for the ME-1 Mixers, or using a bus internally to go to a matrix for the stream, so that wouldn't need a physical IO

So why specifically are you using Aux as groups, you made it seems like there was a feature, processing, or routing benefit to setting those as Aux instead of Group. Seems the Aux you used to go to the Broadcast Mtx would normally be a group?

groups don't have variable levels any different from going to the main output. Sometimes I want more/less kick or snare to the drum bus for broadcast, but that's too deep to get into in a youtube video

@@AttawayAudio Hi James. I'm also struggling to see the benefit of using Aux mixes instead of groups for stream mix. Groups can be routed to LR FOH mix and also to a stream matrix mix, in the matrix the relative levels of the groups can be adjusted. i.e. Speech boosted by 10db to create less dynamic range for broadcast? Although if speech/vocal/instrument FOH mix is controlled by DCAs (with disadvantage of no group processing such as de-esser on speech) then the aux mixes provide more scope for fine tuning the stream mix?
