I haven’t been “gyming” all that hard, but after surviving cancer in my inner right thigh, all I’ve wanted to do was to have my own ‘bakery’ (cough). Unfortunately I have to work against the chemotherapy, which manipulated my whole right leg to grow MUCH slower… I’m bummed out by it, but EVEN SO, I’m gonna train. If I see little growth, that’s enough for me. Thanks big bro, Jesus loves you

What Does Tempo Mean? Essentially, 'tempo' in weight training refers to the speed that you lift the weight (the concentric phase of movement) and how quickly you lower the weight (the eccentric phase of movement).

It’s almost certainly fine for the vast majority of people, as long as you’re lifting a weight you can control. Don’t do it if it causes you pain (especially if repeatedly and increasingly worse). PhD. Mike Israetel of Renaissance Periodization has like 4 videos on it explaining why it’s safe.

@Delta.7
@Delta.7 8 ай бұрын
@@wadell964it’s not about rom. When u lock ur knees, the pressure is lifted from the muscle, and transferred to the kneecap, which is a joint. This can lead to knee injury eventually.

@@wadell964lol u can go close to locking out but have the slightest bend.. like the other guy said locking out has nothing to do with range of motion. plus u want to keep tension on your muscles anyway and not transfer it to your joints and ligaments. This guy has great legs but man thats just terrible practice to lock out like that. Seen videos where the legs fold in on themselves due to the knee joint and ligaments giving out. Joints and ligaments should not be under the pressure of that much weight.

My legs always shake like crazy when I’m doing leg extensions. Even if I’m on lower weight. Any advice on that?

I'm not a professional but it could just be, your legs are still tight and haven't been stretched out enough maybe?

@@emal7484weird. No idea if thats that but take some magnesium or some kinda isotonic drink before. Did proper warmup? Try 5_10 min cycling and a couple reps with loooooow weight fast to get blood flowing

How long have you been training for? Ive known a lot of people who are new to the gym have that happen to them haha I think it gets better over time

On the leg extensions its way better if you do one leg (isolation) at a time. Start off with no weight and do as many reps as you can. All the way to 100 reps if possible. Slow it down if you can do a hundred tho. Do 3 single leg sets. Then when you finish do 2 more double leg sets supersetted with sissy squats in front of the leg extension machine. If you're feeling froggy then add 5 more reps 3 seconds after you fail on the single leg (isolation) sets. That'll put some hair on your chest! 😂

I have hypermobility so I gotta be really careful when it comes to how deep a rep should go, what’s a good sign to pull back and end the set?

random question but i was diagnosed with hypermobility in my left shoulder and it has been messing up my bench press (if i go too heavy my shoulder starts to hurt and if i go light but still train close to failure same thing once i hit the last few reps) what type of warm ups and stuff do you do?

@ I’ll tell you what worked for me, but please see a physical therapist or trainer of some kind to mitigate whatever affects you’ll get from hyperextending. Stretching is the usual stuff I get recommended but I’ve found that can just lead to more overstrain on top of a set, so usually I take at least ten minutes to check my range of motion and try to pay attention to each muscle group on both sides. I have a better right side and will pay attention to what I’m doing wrong on it compared to my left, and once I know I’m focused fully on my body I gently rotate my shoulders and arms against a wall. What you just described happened really bad with my hips, I recommend you pay attention to what your right shoulder is doing and the limitations it has and try to activate those limitations on your left side until they match. It’s also better to go from a lighter weight and then increase as you feel your left range of motion get better, and not going to failure-going to failure will make it harder to feel your progress and let your arm acclimate
