Im not a Gamer, but its a great system to start on and develop your skills. Plus of course a great upgrade path. Really liked your build attitude and knowledge. Thank you for this production.

I have pretty much this exact pc! I built it in August for $395 at Microcenter. The only difference is that I'm using a Ryzen 7600 instead of the 8600g because I intend to upgrade it with a gpu in the future and the 7600 is a better overall processor. Ive found that it's perfectly capable of playing games at low settings even without a sophisticated igpu like the 8000 series has.
@xanderkirkland34203 күн бұрын
I should mention that I went for 16gb, 5600mhz cl36 (I think), as well as a cheap a620 msi board.

APUs and integrated graphics have come a long way. A graphics card is still desireable, but if you don't have the money just yet for a mid-range card, the Ryzen APUs will be adequate for 1080p 60fps in most new games, and even better performance for older games.

That heat sink on the m.2 is massive 😮
@TechLabUK3 күн бұрын
It is huge, I did take it off to swap it around so the writing was the right way around and the thermal pads on it are better than some GPUs I have seen lol

The 16MB L3 cache are not great for gaming. But I guess the APU is what holds the system back. A dedicated GPU, even the crappy RTX 3050 8GB for about 200 bucks would make this actually a system tapping into mid tier gaming performance (specifically with little cheats like the program Lossless Scaling and its frame generation capacity; it also has a new upscaler (SGSR) that works very much like DLSS, only it doesn't hit the quality of DLSS yet, but it's still fantastic).

I hope prices don't go up too much for new hardware in the coming months due to the imbecilic tariff situation coming to US soon. I'm stocked up on new/used parts in case. Those prices for that basic build are indeed a good value. I like that case too.

The AMD iGPUs are quite amazing these days. I'd love to get an AMD APU to use for my Linux workstation, but I currently have a Ryzen 9 3900x which I'm gonna use for as long as I can (won't be getting rid of it while it still does everything I need to do). It's still plenty fast for my needs, and thanks to your "GPU cleaning" video, it's now whisper quiet again :)

Thinking about the Gigabyte radeon rx 7600 xt. Ive always been an intel person but my budget wouldnt allow me to get the 14th gen cpus. Now that ive seen this video im alot less sceptical with my choice.

Ryzen has been better for a while mate, AMD moved a step ahead of Intel when they dropped Zen2. I can't wait to see Intel break back though, Ryzen forced Intel to up their game and when AMD get cocky and lazy Intel will, sooner or later, return the favour. It's we the consumer that benefit from this type of competition.
@Loppy2u3 күн бұрын
Maybe the RX 7700XT will drop to that price soon.

Most APU's nowadays mean there is absolutely 0 reason for cards like gt710 to ever be in a system. It also allows people to play games now while saving up for a better card, instead of buying stuff like an RX6400 which is a marginal improvement on APUs. It's a workable solution with limitations Also I will never understand why case manufacturers put a filter on what is typically the exhaust side of the case. It's not car emissions why do you want consumers to filter the exhaust? Filtration should be done on the intake ie point of ingress of dust particles.
@Alpha-ms9nj3 күн бұрын
You have a point there now that I think about it lol.

cats sitting on top of case, dust gets in when computer is off?
@Midori_Ringo3 күн бұрын
@@buildyourcomputer Cat sitting on top of case makes exhaust pointless anyway. You've just blocked off the exhaust with a giant fur pillow stuffing the exhaust. You will have bigger problems than dust ie pet hair even with a filter. Even as someone who has 2 dogs they're not allowed into the the study where my pc and music gear is. Simply to minimize the amount of pet hair that gets in there. Clean your room once in a while, then you don't have dust everywhere. Also you will have a radiator and at the bare minimum fans and a metal grill. Guess what happens when you turn on the pc? The fans spin up and spit out the dust via the top that's sitting on them by nature of how the airflow is directed.

@@darthwiizius I had GTX 1070s on all my 3 PCs at home at some point. Cyberpunk needed FSR3 at Medium to go above 60FPS. Slightly better, but similar in Horizon Zero Dawn. For Sub USD 100 they are great and will obliterate that measly integrated GPU any day. So I think a "casual" gamer who wants good upgrade path (which is the premise of this video), a Ryzen 7500f + GTX 1070 will be much more performant.
