I like the fact that you apply the same approach and detail on something that is essentially a throw away piece of kit.

Another good one! the I picked up a couple of good bits there! diagonals to get the middle, and the little pencil mark of the chopsaw to get the angle depth the same on both sides, and going through one to mark the second! Thanks again

Hello Robin…never seen that one fantastic. How about a wall tool holder for shed?
@brianbell9662 жыл бұрын
I remember learning joinery skills back it the 70s to make a hawk joining softwood boards together with different edge joints like rubbed butt joint, tongue and groove, and slot-screwed to make the hawk, and the cross piece was tapered dovetail across the grain to stop any cupping and the handle was tenoned with wedge for strength to the cross piece, the handle and cross piece were removable to save space in the plasterers tool bag .

Amazing!, this demonstrates just how much the building game has changed over the last 5 decades, what you describe is a great long lasting tool made for a life in the trades! Now it's buy and throw away!!
@stevehamlett11832 жыл бұрын
@@ukconstruction what happened to the last one you made?😄Made one when I was an apprentice plasterer,way too heavy when you are using it all the time,and cleaning the edges off with your trowel used to cut into the ply,the old guys all used wooden ones as that’s what they were used to.PS I’m 65 and still doing bits👍

Is that a small block plain? What one is that?
@covecarpentry2 жыл бұрын
I imagine sticking plasterboard to the blocks is quicker and easier than drilling on buttons? and probably allows for some adjustment perhaps making It flatter.

Rob as carpenters our work is varied we can be doing 2nd fix for weeks on end and then next minute you’re roofing a irregular hip roof, how do you remember each step of your techniques is it experience or do you find yourself going back to carpentry books time to time to refresh your knowledge?
