+ThatRavenclawChick It's hilarious that you say the music is excellent. It's by a band that's a hallmark of "Crappy pop punk" Bowling for Soup. I say that ironically, as I like myself a little pop punk from time to time. But yeah, Phineas and Ferb was one of my favorite shows as a kid. Right next to Mythbusters and Pokemon.

Eh, better and more optimistic than CNN. Oh the time when you were blissfully unaware that powerful people had nuclear weapons. And now I watch shows where the entire premise is that society is corrupt and life is cruel, with people approximately my own age trying to defeat large Titans with swords. At least Attack on Titan makes women into interesting and we'll developed characters, kinda rare on the internet and anime.

I love how John bashes all of the other kids tv shows except for Phineas and Ferb. ( where their pet platypus, perry, is a undercover agent of a secret animal organization fighting an evil genius while Phineas and Ferb make ridiculous contraptions without getting punished or stopped by adults. ) Yea that's a totally normal thing compared to all of the other shows.

I've got to tell you, when it comes to quality family TV entertainment, I can't recommend any show more than Avatar: The Last Airbender. It's a deep, character driven story, which also manages to be funny and exciting. It's based in a fantasy world, rich with lore and legends. The characters are complex and are developed wonderfully throughout the show's three season long run. It also takes influence from Eastern culture, prominently displayed in the art style and the philosophies that it teaches. It is, without a doubt, one of the best cartoons ever produced for children and adults, alike, and it is my personal favorite show.

I find that it is not strange that you have seen all of these tv shows at least once. I actually think that I have seen all of these shows at least once. The only reason why i saw Yo Gabbagabba is because I wanted to see if it was as strange as how people described it. I never really watched it that much when I was little, but I think that I would have found it a bit on the creepy side since all of the characters were slightly scary robots. However, I do support how there was a song that was sung on the tv show that promoted eating your vegies. A bit off topic, but how did Barney and Friends not make the list?

I thought it was pond slime or something, since it's called "goo lagoon". Although if it were some sort of algal growth, that would mean that they were swimming in plankton-sized things, which would make things awkward for Plankton... Yeah I'll go with your explanation instead.

I met the choreographer of everything on Nickelodeon and it was super interesting. Everything in the Backyardigans is based on real and varied dance forms, but incorporated in that is simpler choreography that children can follow along to, in an attempt to get them moving and curious about dance. She designed Bubble Guppies to do the same thing for disabled children--the guppies do not dance below the waist.

When this video came out, I found it entertaining, but ultimately, had no real opinion about anything discussed. Now that I have a year and a half year old niece though, I have to say John, I disagree. I think Octonauts is one of the better children's TV shows out there. (mostly because the engineer on board is a girl) Mickey Mouse Club House is spawned from Satan though.

I don't think it was an opinion but more of an analysis, to be honest. However, I agree, Octonauts is the superior out of his options.

There is an incredible show on Netflix called Sarah and Duck about a girl Sarah and, you guessed it, her friend Duck going on adventures together. It has a narrator to whom Sarah talks (instead of the audience) great lessons, and is wonderfully calm which makes it a winner for me!

Oh goodness, hearing him talk about some of the shows my kids are watching is great. Though I like it when they watch bubble guppies, octonauts, the cat in the hat, and team umi-zumi.

ImpakaWarrior Not really a terrible stoner show, it's more like animation porn, well it is animation porn, I guess tons of different animation styles might look like you're stoned.

Kacimbe I'm sorry, it sounded like to me that you just implied that Regular Show ISN'T a stoner show in disguise. The original concept for the show actually WAS about two regular guys working at a gas station who accidentally did some LSD and one of them thought he was a blue bird (Mordecai) and the other thought he was a gumball machine (Benson). The show is littered with thinly veiled alcohol references, and they always seem to have the munchies. Also, Adventure Time is spoofing D&D which was originally considered a game for stoners to play while high. Dorks with no lives didn't take over the game until much later. And, if you ask me, Adventure Time has definitely kept the original theme of D&D rather than the newer dorky theme.

I understood that because "octopus" has a Greek root, the correct pluralisation would be "octopodes", which is more commonly anglicised to "octopuses." Nevertheless, I am not 100% certain...

Nope. It's a Greek word; so it is octopodes or octopuses.

I never expected that my repressed memories of Oso would be revived today . Also Oswald the Octopus ?It was great . Bit older though . not really played around 2012. It was great though . Penguins would dry spoons in the sun , octopi would cultivate giant bananas , and of course there was the polka dot dance.

You know what show really instilled fear into my heart? "Johnny and the Sprites". We need to air Bill Nye and Reading Rainbow reruns more often. And invent a math version so our scores are higher. And bring back 'House of Mouse' because that was quality entertainment.

Having a crisis - I was watching a video on Phineas and Ferb, remembered John had made a video about it, and went to watch only to discover the video was NINE YEARS AGO which means Henry is around 12 and where did those 9 years disappear to because I seriously thought this video was maybe 3 years old at BEST

On CBeebies in the UK there is a programme called 'In The Night Garden' which includes such characters as Upsy Daisy who is a rag doll that can pull a string in her skirt to make it inflate subsequently flashing those around her, Igglepiggle a blue fleece animal thing with a horrifically misshapen head, Makka Pakka the unfortunately brown poo shaped creature who is obsessed with stones, the Tombliboos - strange spiky haired triplets who happen to live in a bush and of course not forgetting all of the characters main method of transportation the Ninkynonk, I don't even know! The funniest thing about this mental programme is the fact that it is shown at the end of the 'Bedtime Hour' just as you are putting your children to sleep but to be honest it strikes fear into my heart so not so much sweet dreams as horrific nightmares!

I have 3 different categories for children's tv. The first is "Please never make me watch this" including shows such as Cailloiu. The next is "I would happily watch this with a child" with shows such as Sesame Street or Blue's Clues. The third category is "Children's shows I watch as an adult" with shows such as Arthur, Steven Universe, Miraculous Ladybug, or Hilda. the latter 3 I've only seen as an adult as they're new, but Arthur started a week before I was born and I have watched that show my whole life.
