I never married as I never met anybody that I want to spend the rest of my life with. I also never gave birth to a child, but I adopted my daughter and fostered twins a boy and a girl who turn 21 this year. My parents also adopted my younger brother and sister. The best moments of my life watching those 5 children and knowing that they were put on a different path in life with God in their lives.

I'm a 60-year-old man who never wanted or had kids. The reasons are many and too long to explain, but my 2nd wife's oldest daughter from a prior marriage had a boy out of wedlock and the father was absent. At the age of 48, I basically became Riley's father. I raised him for six years before they moved, and it was the best job I ever had in my life! It broke my heart when they moved out of state, but we stayed in touch and have more of a traditional grandfather and grandson relationship now. Having Riley come into my life is absolutely one of the best things that has ever happened to me!

Had my son at 40. I admit i wasnt very enthusiastic during the 9 months. Day of delivery was pretty stressful. My wife tested positive for covid.i was locked down to the room and not permitted to be in the room for delivery. Finally, when my son was born and brought into the room i was waiting in, nurse put him in my arms. He opened his eyes for the fist time looking right thru me. It was surreal, like right out of a movie. 2.5 years later i can say, hands down, this is the greatest gift i've received in my life... nothing compares to what this has injected into my human spirit.

Will you remain as cheerful if your son, after reaching the age of 18, lacks in the two departments which classify a man as a man and thereby becomes the opposite of what you envisioned for him? Due to being below 6 feet / 6 inches, more and more men fail to meet womens' expectations as to who they view as desireable which in turn forces men to become recluses.

A father who will walk thru fire for their child is what my boy will get, and we'll let the chips fall where they may. Fortunately as well he is always in the 90 percentile for height on his check- ins for developmental milestones. Over the last 7 years of our relationship when people ask me what I want to do with my life I tell them I want a good paying job with reasonable hours so I can be the best father and support my future family. Sorry for a long reply, but I do think these talking points attacking childless people are a bit out of touch. Most women I know who are in their 40s and childless and single are pained by it. They wanted that reality of marriage and family their entire lives. I’m one of them. I wanted a dozen kids and I wanted to homeschool them. But I never met anyone to marry. Because I’m a Christian, I didn’t believe in being a single mom. I believed if I was meant to be a mother, God would provide a husband to help be my partner. For me, without the husband, I felt it was wrong to pursue being a mother. I’m not judging others for going out on their own and adopting or choosing a donor, but for me, I never believed that was the right path. I chose God’s will over choosing to marry someone who wasn’t right. Looking back, it turned out some of those men came out as gay and others had major drug issues down the road, so I made the right choice. The men I dated were not right to marry. There is immense pain over the fact that I can’t be a mother and that I wasn’t good enough to find a good Christian man who would stand by me. That’s what I wanted for my life. Now I get shamed by people for being single and childless. Not only do I hurt because I never got to live the dream for my life, but now I am shamed over the fact that I didn’t meet a man I felt was a good God fearing man that I could build a life with. Should I have married a meth addict or a gay guy just to avoid being shamed? Just to have a baby? No. I did nothing wrong. I was never a beauty. I’m only moderately smart. And I am a strong conservative Christian. Not many men want those qualities in a woman. I’m not catch. I know that. But at least I didn’t compromise myself. I didn’t marry a non believer to just be married or have kids. I didn’t find a daddy donor just to force a baby into existence without a father and husband. Sometimes in life, the only alternative is being single and childless. But if God doesn’t provide that path, all I can do is trust he has a plan for me. And maybe the plan means dying alone, but luckily God will be with me in that too.

@@tb54321Hi, I’m sure my comments means little to your great expanse of KZbin recommendations and social media sound boxes, but I wanted to say that reading your comment was a bit sobering for me. I’m a 20 year old guy, raised in a loving Catholic family, and all I really want in my life is to be able to provide for my own family and for a spouse. But alas, it seems like women in this generation would rather go out to parties and clubs than sit down and make a commitment to one person. Sometimes my enthusiasm for this kind of life wanes, because it feels like I’m very alone in this desire for something beyond myself, and the alternative of just being totally uncaring about myself and my romantic episodes grows all the more preferable. I guess I just wanted to say that reading your comment gave me some encouragement. Because it would pain me to be a guy with this attitude towards raising a family, but then forego that desire because of a cynical attitude I developed as an adolescent. If it means one day a woman can experience that joy of raising a family, and avoid that situation you seem to find yourself in, it might be worth pushing past these feelings of loneliness and tiredness. The qualities you seem to own are definitely a catch, and I’m sad I haven’t met any girls who seem to embody them. I also find solace in that even if I die randomly on a Tuesday, at least God will be there with me. I hope though that at some point my enthusiasm returns for finding a spouse, and I can raise a family with her. I hope that you know you’re very much not alone in your singleness, as God loves you very very much.

I'm married for 13 years, have 2 kids. However, I got to the party later in life. Not to defend the position, BUT... I was terrible at dating until I met my wife. Then, everything worked out. There are people out there who are looking, but never find that match. They might not have the "Playboy" lifestyle, I wasn't, and just are unlucky. People told me I was immature, wanted to play around, and many other things, but I just couldn't find the right woman. Either it was 'no connection,' no spiritual/religious foundation, which for me is important, not meeting up on really important things. It was hard. I remember that on the first date, my now wife asked me what I wanted out of this date if it works out- I blurted out, "I want to see if you are the woman I'm supposed to be with, get married, and start a family." She said that she had never heard a man say that before. Rock solid since. Marriage and children are awesome.

Do not get married. I was married 27 years (22 thru 49). You will never recoup the financial losses a divorce imposes on you. In just about ever state a marriage lasting 20 or more years alimony is permanent. My wx-wife gets $1,000 in welfare money each month from me for the rest of my life because a white knight in a black robe said so. I've been divorced 6 years now so that is $72,000 i am behind. Thankfully the 3 kids were adults when we got a divorce so no child support. She tried though, she wanted me to pay tell they were 21. For those curious what happened, Her high school sweetheart became a widdow. He was lonely, they contacted on facebook. It was on. Marriage is a government contract so dont do it men. It is hostile towards you. Do not listen to these tradcon simps.

There’s nothing wrong with marriage, it helps promotes devotion and monogamy where as the latter is just giving away sex without commitment. At the same time your ex shouldn’t be getting alimony. That is outdated from a time when women weren’t allowed to work. I don’t understand why that’s still in place. Something needs to be done about this. @@angelsky6869 Only 40% of men in the history of the world have ever reproduced so the majority of men have never been married or reproduced. Monogamy is not that old of a concept. In the feudalism era only poor men had to be monogamous. Wealthy men could have as many wives as they could afford and some mistresses. The puritan view on marriage is like 400 years old, so rather young. Marriage is dead in the west. It is time people accept it. Young men have no interest in marriage, heck most have no interest in dating. In 1999, when todays 25 year old was boen the average house price was $161,000. Now the average house price is $419,000 so there is no way the average 25 year old can afford to get married, have kids and afford a house. As for a devotion, that is a laugher. In 2005 a study was commissioned. The study asked 10,000 married women their opinions on marriage. 72% of women said they would divorce their husband if they could financially afford to. 84% said they wished they married a different guy from their dating past. So devotion has never been high on a woman's list. It is what you can provide.

I will never know that experience like they won't maybe know what it's like to live in my world. If I had to script it out I would not have chosen my route thru life. Yes, Jesus in the Gospels when teaching about marriage mentions those who sacrifice marriage and family for the sake of the Kingdom of God. Saint Paul who was voluntarily celibate wished all believers could be like him cause a single celibate person’s first concern can always be to serving God and His people where a married person’s first concern must always be to their spouse and children. Saint Paul though also recognized that of course more people are called to be married to show intimate love and have children to continue to maintain the Church on Earth. So both states are holy. Those who feel called to remain celibate for life to serve God and the Church or God and another good work and those called to marriage and family.

Pat, I have a suggestion that I was prompted to suggest from another video and reminded of again with this one. I would suggest having a laser-focus on those who are your guests and who you are interviewing. I know you are often involved in on-the-fly research, but is disrespectful to a degree, to seem distracted when a guest is answering your question. I have conducted more than 4,800 interviews myself, so I have some experience. You have been so successful in so many other ways that it seems like this behavior is out of synch with everything else. Sorry to say this, but Cliffe and PBD aren't dealing with the many parents whose children have broken their hearts and left them devastated. Just google for the articles about children who have completely cut their parents off. Or check out the domestic violence that happens every day between men and women. Young men do not need to hear that their best life can only be found in committing to a woman. It might happen that way for some, but true contentment can only come from within, and not abandoning male friendships.

Lotta bitter people surrounding the topic of marriage. Marriage is a beautiful thing and having children is amazing! The whole problem is, both men and women departed from God, that's why everything is falling apart. Life is beautiful with God in the center of it. So many blessings, joy and peace, and real love. Too bad many people never get to experience it even though it's available to all.

The purpose of life is children and marriage. You’re correct. I’ve already completed everything I need to do. I’m a 28 year old man. I’m working to maintain what I have now. And yes I’ve had the sex with all the girls you talk about. This life doesn’t do anything for me. All these things don’t do anything for me. I question every day why am I working hard? Wasting my time? For what? For who? Because it’s not for me. I’m single and childless.

There’s one path that was never mentioned. There are some like the prophets of old that never get married or have kids because they devote their entire life to God by following and serving him. I’m one of those people. I’ve been blessed with a nephew that I’m very close with and I’m very close the rest of my family. I just don’t have a wife or kids of my own. I coach kids in little league and am able to love them all as if they’re my own. If I had my own kids I probably wouldn’t be as free to do that. I’m the same way with kids in my surrounding communities. So in a way I’m able to reach and affect more young people positively cause of the fact that I don’t have my own family. God bless!

That's very commendable and I honor you for it. Children are so impeccably sweet and mystical, I have had instances when children cried after me seeking my attention when I am leaving a venue. Just last week, an asian/british (somewhat 1year) stranger toddler followed me out of a library despite the mother being in the library. The toddler refused to be persuaded to return to her mum until we both returned and I promised her I was coming back. Though I am yet to be married (should have), I so much love children and believe they should be brought up under the right environment, atmospheric family structure. Children have done a lot of strange things around me also

Not everyone is called to be married and have children. Marriage and parenthood are wonderful gifts from God, but they are not the only paths to a fulfilling and purposeful life. The Apostle Paul himself, in his letters, speaks to the value of singleness and the unique opportunities it offers for undivided devotion to the Lord. In 1 Corinthians 7:7-8, Paul writes, "I wish that all of you were as I am. But each of you has your own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that. Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I do." Here, Paul acknowledges that singleness can be a gift that allows individuals to focus more fully on their relationship with God and their service to His kingdom. The key is to seek God's will for your life, whether that includes marriage and children or not. Each person has a unique calling, and fulfillment comes from following that calling faithfully. Whether married or single, with children or without, our primary purpose is to glorify God and live out His love in our lives.

I'm not into whoring but am fully open to marriage again, however most women my age are not interested in a life partner at this point. I’m a Catholic and my GF is a coming believer but not quite there yet. It’s a struggle to convey to her some problems she holds because she doesn’t view it like that. We share a child and it’s by far our greatest blessing. But to anyone who reads this, if you are believer in Christ then follow his teachings and get married before having sex! I love my child and my woman but some struggles are so hard because she lacks faith in God. So head my warning, follow God and not your own desire.

Do you realize that the Catholic Church Is leading you straight to hell right!? Catholics because in Jesus PLUS MAN WORKS gets you to heaven. GOD says I am the way the truth and the life no one comes to the father except through me. If your going to a catholic priest telling them your sins you are literally going to a man that is a sinner just like you. Can't do anything. Plus a lot of the things that are in the Catholic church are not even in the bible. You just believe them because they went to some Bible school. A lot of the things they say are not even in there they just make things up and twist the word. So they can make money off of you. Like saying priests can't marry or have sex that's nothing in the Bible and anything it's a gift from god. They do it so these guys become perverts over time and sin by watching porn and everything else because they can't get married. Also For example purgatory. There's nothing in the Bible that even talks about purgatory. God's words even says man is appointed once to die. A man either goes to heaven or hell for all of eternity never to get out. So the LIE of purgatory is just another example of what the Catholic Church does to get people sucked into giving them more money. Plus the Catholic pope has even started to accept homosexuality beliefs and say that they're going to go to heaven too. Completely contradicts the bible. The Catholic Church contradicts the Bible so many times. Not trying to be mean to you just trying to tell you the truth because I was living in a lie at one point and then finally found the truth. People who don't read their Bible believe people who are in supposed to be a biblical authority. The Catholic Church also encourages people to worship angels and to praise them. But in reality God says not to worship any angel or even to talk to it. The Lord said if you have an angel of light up here in front of you not even talk to it or entertain it. Man they contradict the Bible and people who don't know that just believe him right off the bat because they don't read the Bible for themselves. And the Catholic Church takes advantage majorly of people like that as well as other major religions in this world. Also there's like so many other ways they contradict the Bible but those are just a few.

We now have so many children who aren't ours biologically and still have their own parents, but we are making differences in their lives because they also see what a happy marriage can be. The pastor had wonderful advice and answered the question wonderfully. I would just say for PBD and other Christians who make the insinuation that people who don't have kids are somehow incomplete or don't have a full life are making an error because in doing so you are saying that Jesus Christ himself and the Apostle Paul had incomplete lives because they didn't have kids and weren't married. Yes living a life for yourself is an incomplete life, but having kids isn't the only path to a complete life and even having kids doesn't mean that someone isn't living for themselves anymore. With that being said, yes the encouragement of young people to commit and get married is a good thing and should be given more often

I learned my lessons from this and decided about 10 years ago that I was done with trying to find that great women to be with. I am single for many years now, have a paid off home, money in early retirement and am happy most of the time. If find today's available women to be intolerable. The risk is definitely not worth taking in my case. The woke virus has infected them in the environments I have lived in NYC and Denver. The combo of my knowledge based on my history and the woke feminist virus plus the legal system that is designed to protect women and hurt men makes it impossible to take that risk. Life is worth living alone. Nothing tragic about my life. I do believe in God and Jesus although the church and the Pope are corrupted as much as women today.

All they talked about is the feelings and “purpose” of their own self-interest neglecting that their “purpose” requires subjecting a human to life without consent. Talking about a new life being created like it’s some inanimate object. People don’t have to agree with antinatalism (the philosophy that creating life is immoral) but to not even discuss it as a reason people are opting out of having kids is rather ignorant. PDB has really leaned into the subjects of kids and religion the past year-ish. I respect him on if not most of his viewpoints but he’s going too far into it with willful ignorance. I don’t don’t view the childless negatively. It’s a choice some folks have made, and that’s fine for them….but I pity them…You don’t know how much you can love something until you have a child. The kind of love that almost hurts in a way. Trying to figure out how to raise each child, give them support, direction, discipline, freedom and space, the balancing act without equal. Children bring the greatest joy and can break your heart and cause so much pain. It’s the biggest gamble of your life. In the end you can control your actions, but you can’t control them. I find the childless hard to relate to. When you discuss the things of life with them, the conversation has limits, they don’t have the same frame of reference. You what life was like before children, they don’t know what life is like after children. You live on two different planets, you don’t really breathe the same air.

Why does anyone have to explain or justify not having children? The reason(s) are varied... and sometimes deeper than you think. It could be medical, mental, trauma, or they just dont want to. And as far as marriage goes, there are no guarantees. People leave. You can get married and, still, not have children. Life is complex. GODS' plan for that persons' life may not be the same as His plan for your life. Paul never married, and he never had children. Yet he wrote most of the New Testament. GOD has a plan for each of us... even if other people don't agree with it, like it, or understand it. Walk in the shoes of the before you judge them. But for the Grace of GOD, there go I.
