In case anyone is wondering what this has to do with climate change: unusually high temperatures in one area can, paradoxically, lead to unusually cold temperatures in other areas. A simplified explanation of the events are as follows: Greenland's getting too hot -> Greenland ice melting -> makes nearby sea colder than normal -> causes colder overall weather in Iceland Atlantic region -> shifting in North Atlantic Oscillation to spill that pressure system south along North America's east cost -> Florida gets dumped with snow and hit by freezing temperatures
@nogreatreset85065 күн бұрын
What you have described is a Sudden Stratospheric Warming event, the snowstorm of 1895 is very similar to what occured. Contrary to popular belief SSW events do not cause the poles to warm well above freezing or even slightly above, temperatures are still well below freezing. Greenland is nether hot or has melting ice. SSW events happen more often when earth is colder. The climate is changing but not in the way you think it is. Mr Dilley an experienced meteorologist has explained in detail what is actually happening.
