Austin Street was so cool in the 60's to 80's, started to go downhill around 1985, becoming crowded and commercial, losing its quaintness and London vibe. That whole Forest Hills Tudor-style area from Queens Blvd to Metropolitan Ave between Ascan Avenue and Yellowstone Blvd was really beautiful, very cool place, I grew up there, very artsy and trendy, the way SOHO once was. That Chateau jewelers, Lucille Roberts, and Cheese World have been there forever, nearly 50 years, give or take. I was an aerobics instructor at Lucille Roberts in the 70's. So many memories there, especially when the US OPEN was played at the stadium a few blocks over, and the tennis champions would drive slowly up Austin waving and smiling at friendly fans. Thank you for the video.

I'm very much missing traveling, so I'm very happy to have discovered you here some while ago fellow walker. This is definitely the next best thing. Even though we do walking video's ourselves, we still enjoy watching other peoples. I guess it's the element of surprise it gives in not quite knowing what's around the corner. I do think such films are valuable and we often enjoy turning off Netflix and taking a virtual vacation! Ah we can but dream of the inspiring places we'll go but for now this is a happy interlude. Thank you for all your hard work, I know there's a lot goes in to such films.

@@ActionKid most of Australia is doing OK and isn't in lock down or have restrictions etc. It's the state of Victoria, and particularly its capital Melbourne, which has been doing it tough with a long lock down in place.

Let's hope those establishments have re-opened. It's disheartening to see store after store closed and shuttered. Thank you for the glimpse of what's going on in Forest Hills, AK.

Hey man when you're out and about do you ever see people locating utilities? They'll be spray painting stripes on the ground with one hand and holding what seems like a metal detector in the other hand. Thats what I've been doing since March.

Welcome to my neighborhood, I had no idea forest hills was in a so called orange zone. I have stopped following the news closely. Been reluctant to get a hair cut, since the salon always keep their doors closed, and air circulation is important as not to catch Covid-19. So, I guess I had a good excuse.

Not nearly as much as they did pre pandemic times! Limitations to the amount of clients in the shop because of social distancing. More time spent on each client too. Sanitizing of the stations after each client.
