Adventure Elliot is a bilingual travel vlogger (English and Spanish) with a particular interest in the Spanish speaking world. I enjoy taking adventures - big or small - and my goal is to show the Spanish speaking world 1 video at a time.
The goal of my channel is simple yet complex: I want to document and share authentic & educational content of anything related to Adventure Travel, Geography, & Language in the Spanish-speaking world. It's kind of a loaded topic, but it allows me to never exhaust my creative outlets. The truth is, I've always been extremely passionate about what I'm doing on my channel, but I never properly documented it when I started adventuring as a younger man in my college years. I've made over 150 KZbin videos in both English and Spanish, and I have aspirations to make 1000s more. If that sounds interesting to you, join the community and follow me along the way.. After all, we're just getting started.

I grew up in Los Angeles, I was born and raised here, and I can tell you that this is not the Los Angeles that I grew up in. And whether anyone wants to believe it or not, the politics make a big difference. I grew up when Ronald Reagan was Governor of California, things were much different. Between 2021-2022, there were 818,000 who moved out of California. This does include the business that moved out of state. California's recent trend is consistently losing revenue and increasing debt. It's no longer the Golden State. It has become a leading welfare state.

I left Cali in 09. It was an awesome place to grow up in. I fought and worked hard locally in so Cal to keep it from turning. A loser's battle, I gave up and left. IMO, it started changing drastically in the 90s but the downfall began in 86 after amnesty. Not disparaging Hispanics that were granted that amnesty. It's that most of them when later able to vote , voted predominantly Democrat despite being typically conservative in rooted values. I grew up in a majority Latino area and lived among them. I witnessed the change.

@@thehurley17 There are many factors and many types of homelessness in Los Angeles. Some of it is due to the weather which is good 365 days of the year compared to other cities in the U.S. Another factor is there is a difference between being housing insecure vs. living on the streets. In addition, you have many individuals who are mentally ill who if they are not a danger to themselves are not being properly being taken care of nor forced to be institutionalized (blame this on Ronald Reagan who closed all the mental institutions back in the day). Here is some info regarding homelessness in Los Angeles: homeless.lacounty.gov/our-challenge/ Also, a big driver for the increase in housing--insecure individuals are greedy developers who pushed out low income housing tenants out in order to revitalize DTLA i.e. Staples Center. There are several nonprofit organizations along with state agencies working to solve the issue of homelessness which primarily focuses on permanent to transitional housing that include social services within the the facility; as well as placing homeless individuals in motels on a temporary basis. The homeless problem is complex and encompasses many more issues other than drug addiction.

It's the commies. Big government destroys everything. It really is sad but there's not much hope for places like CA and NY, liberal welfare states. The government will never be quenched, constantly draining everyone for every penny claiming they're helping while turning everything to 💩. They don't help the homeless much at all (or anyone for that matter.) They honestly are incompetent and terrible at everything except stealing and killing. This is what being liberal gets you. It's not like that in red states. Sure there's bad spots but not like Oakland or 💩 holes in CA.

Plus, at Christmas time all the windows were beautifully decorated. People came from all over to walk around and have lunch. The Dems have finished turning L.A. into a sh-t hole...now it is time to flush the corrupt politicians and start over. The corruption in the building industry is horrific with the likes of Jose Huizar and our prior City Attorney. The prior City atty was filing charges against Northridge Earthquake victims of embezzler Tom Girardi for minor code violations, while the courthouses and hospitals have never been repaired either (where did their FEMA money go?). So they are using city homeowners as their cash cows while Van Nuys Blvd looks like Germany after WWII, but dirtier. The city is utterly and completely corrupt from top to bottom. The homeless are not all drug addicts, many are those who lost everything to greedy hospitals or failed medical treatments. And by the way, most drug addicts were started on drugs by allopathic medicine. Big Pharma likes pain sufferers. I spent 34 years in academic medicine watching Big Pharma court and bribe our doctors. Medicine, since it has been fully incorporated is a totally corrupt and greedy revenue gathering system, with no concern as to outcomes!

Previously an Engineer and was assigned for about 2 years plus in USA. As far as i observed, I found out that American culture is in decay. Its proven in the office and any american workplace. The people are lax, lousy, keeps on whining, always complaining and complacent. Morale is very low. Patriotism is very low. That is a sign that the social status of USA is in Apathy.

I am seventy four years old. I lived in Los Angeles most of my life. Los Angeles is a very large place. And some of it is gorgeous and some of it is not and it has always been that way. The problem is, people from other cities think they should go downtown when they arrive in Los Angeles. Downtown has never been a good place to be. When you come to Los Angeles you are supposed to stay by the beach. or Westwood Village or Beverly Hills or maybe near the airport. But nobody ever goes downtown like they do in every other city in the world. It is not a place to live or for tourists. It never has been. If Ronald Reagan had not closed the mental hospitals in the 80s, that would have helped a lot. But now we have nowhere for those people to stay. The drugs of course make it worse I think everyone needs to be rounded up and given a place to be, even if it's a big apartment building or something because you cannot afford a toilet in Los Angeles anymore. I had to leave. I cannot afford to live there at all. My parents' house went from forty thousand dollars to 1 million three hundred thousand dollars. It. 's all chinese living in my town now. Greed greed greed. Sell people from anywhere whatever they want. Put Americans last on the list. But you have to judge Los Angeles differently than every other city in the world. Because it is not designed like other cities and most people don't get that.

LA has NOT only been this way. It used to be a clean, fun and exciting place to walk around...people dreamed of moving there. In the 70's, 80's and even 90's I had a blast visiting my dad and cousins in LA. My father worked downtown for Los Angeles county and loved it for 40 years. He finally saw it going downhill and came to live by me in Tucson. I have been here for nearly thirty years. When I came here it was right out of college and the homeless were only in a concentric few blocks of dtla (aka: Skid Row) and a few sprinkled around the Santa Monica beach and Hollywood Blvd. The burst of homeless came around the time of Jerry Brown and got exponentially worse during the run of Newsom and Gar-douche-tti). Liberal/socialist politics have brought things here. You have to vote for change and people that are aligned with law and order. -I would love to know who passed laws that allow rights to squatters taking over homes they do not own, just under 950 with no prison, violent crimes with no enhancements that get the least amount of time. When Newsom entered his position as governor, CA had a large budget SURPLUS of 97.5 billion. In j just around four years we are between 58-68 billion DEFECIT. The Dems are positioning this dolt for a run at the presidency. Good luck on that. -I am a nurse, and I see constant and growing violent crimes perpetuated by the breakdown of these basic constructs. -I want to add that the governor just spent around 300k for a personal photographer. This is the insanity of this vain egocentric dolt that runs our state. Meanwhile, the same lib/socialists keep voting these people over and over.

Human poop, crackhead galore, people high trying to hit you and throw their poop at you. It was horrendous and I felt unsafe which being unsafe is the reason why I left Guatemala in the first place.

What causes a person to be a snob? Like inverse snobbery, snobbery can be interpreted as a symptom of social insecurity. Social insecurity may be rooted in childhood experiences, especially feelings of shame at being different, or an early sense of privilege or entitlement that cannot later be realized.

I was raised here and lived here my whole life, yes This is LA ... Years before COVID ever hit I always joked with my friends saying how the tourists must be so disappointed when they come here, from what they expect and see in Hollywood, to the reality of Hollywood must be such a shock to people... I can't imagine now Thank you for showing the reality because people sugarcoat how it is here in Los Angeles, and California in general honestly, but LA is really bad. Yes I don't go anywhere near MacArthur Park either, haven't in many years, people only go there for drugs that's it Things have been bad for well over a decade here, only getting worse... There's some kind of energy brewing in the air and I hope I'm not here to find out what it is at the end, because it's not going to be good

I've lived off and on in Los Angeles since 1968. Downtown LA is the 1970's wasn't so great -- much smaller skyline, and very very people lived there or even visited. The 2010-2020 was very hopeful, and downtown really was on the rise. California's foolish draconian Covid lockdown policies killed so much momentum

You know many of those so called addicts are people getting booted or losing their pain management clinics where they were monitored safely. Thanks to the CDC, DOJ and DEA many of us are unable to get adequate meds for incurable illness where opioids are the final straw. Instead they are forcing people into the black market. They cut prescriptions by 30-40% and deaths skyrocketed. Same is happening in Russia now with massive HIV outbreaks all due to opioidphobia and fear people will become instant addicts. Fact is. People who have legit illness don't get high or addicted. Also tolerance n dependency is not addiction. Addiction is a mental disorder. So we can blame our ignorant gov for pushing new customers to the cartel. I'm one of those who suffer intractable pain, no cure and failed every remedy. I'm being refused adequate dosing and fear the streets is where I will have to go. Not to mention it's a violation of my intractable patient bill of rights. And an act of torture according to the Geneva Convention
