I used to live in the Gallun building (beautiful building by the way and the halls are decorated with old Gallun advertisements). Ever since Ed revived the Gallun brand I’ve been looking for a boot with his leather. When I got the email from Grant stone I instantly bought the black waxy stag brass boot. Can’t wait to get it delivered!

I bought a pair due to the look of the leather. The deep striations really caught my attention. But when I received my pair I was a bit disappointed because the leather was pretty much smooth all around. The feature that pushed me to buy was not there. I could have returned them but they are still a beautiful pair of boots. Tough break in though 👍

I hope Gallun makes a resurgence. I remember the first time I saw Oak Street's boar boot, I spent near 15 minutes just looking at the details that were in the leather. This horserump on the Truman are absolutely stunning. The picture of it on the Truman site does not do this leather justice based on what you have shown. It makes me want to allocate a budget for a pair of horserump. I've only heard they are a challenge to break in, and heard Maryam can feel like stiff boards.

I am wearing the cognac horse rump variant right now. They’re pretty insane. My pair has almost zero pebbling, but I kind of like it that way. My first pair of horse leather boots. They are very different than cow hide. It’s almost like a hard, malleable plastic that softens with the warmth of of your feet and then molds to its forever shape. Incredible.

My cognac pair have basically no grain but the leather is still nice. Felt a little misleading but pretty much the only heavy weight horse hide I’ve see 🤷♂️

I was so tempted with that leather. But glad I waited for the bison to come back. Mabye I'll get a pair if they bring it back next year.

I at least ordered the Black Cherry Bison, but regret not getting this one. Partly, I confess, the website photos didn’t do this makeup justice. Seeing them here I’m shaking my head. Thanks for your videos Dale!
