I just did this with a 90 sec rest between each set and push press weights 65#-75#-85#, used a 24” box for the step overs and box jump overs 40#for the step overs at 58 years old time; 19:30.

I would assume b/c these movements are very dynamic and changing levels which will cause high volumes of lactic acid to build up in your tissues. So she’s most likely using that technique to help her flush the lactic acid and stay moving.

Are you asking about the technique or the over the bar part? Her technique is a normal burpee. And going over the bar is for practice for the games when burpees are often finished over a bar.

David Tad ohhh 😂 thanks, because I’m on keto and doing one meal a day, bodybuilding in the am, then mix of CrossFit and running in the afternoon to maximize my weight loss as fast as I can, standing at 225 lbs, 5’10”, 18 fb and trying to get to 215 all the way from 260. So I use coffee as a meal suppressant all day till I work out then eat. That’s why I was asking if caffeine is good as a preworkout.

Great work. I'm confused a little however in the intro you said push press set 1 push press set 2 and push jerk set 3 wasn't the third set a push press still ? what is the difference ? thanks

you catch the bar with straight knees in the press, so you bend the knees and drive up, whereas in jerks you catch the bar with bent knees, and split jerk is what olympic athletes do where the catch the bar in a split stance

My cues for them (and description) Push press - "dip knees, drive the bar up and finish as high as you can." Power Jerk - "dip and drive, drop and catch the bar with arms locked out." The weight is significantly heavier for a jerk so this is very much a necessity. Hope that helps.

Hey at top level you can't do that very much because you'll get sick. Many athletes do 3-3 or 2-2 meaning 3 left 3 right 3 left so on..
