They don’t have all the fancy gear or tech and definitely skimp on the safety gear, but they still get the job done. It’s pretty cool to see how they make do with what they’ve got and still fix up those trucks like champs. Mad respect for their skills and hustle!
@mattieb31527 күн бұрын
I saw repairs like this being carried out whilst travelling India. These guys have 'Old School' skills that keep these trucks on the road and running, out of necessity. They don't have heaps of money to throw at new parts, or new trucks, just do what it takes to keep the old girl running. True, there's jack shit safety most of the time, but at least these guys had a welding shield to use! The repairs ain't pretty, the equipment ain't new and shiny, but it works well enough to get the job done, and I respect their skills applied.

They overload these poor trucks past their limits and drive them into the ground. There's no maintenance on them, only patching when they fall apart. I saw this all over Afghanistan and iraq.
@peteb213 күн бұрын
Agreed! Why don't they understand that? Just look at the massive modified extra leaf-spring setup & the chassis from what the original truck would have when it left the factory... The repair is an utter bodge job until it blows apart again at huge risk to everyone on the road!
