@@markmerzweiler832 I actually think its not such a bad line and conveys the opposite. Not to sound like a love dr lol, but have you ever heard the saying "Woman don't like questions"? That isn't 100% true, but a proper conversation with someone you're interested in should be a back and forth. So if you cause someone else to lead a conversation, it suddenly becomes easy since you're not getting tongue tied thinking of what to ask. It just flows naturally from what they ask or tell you about themselves. To me it appears much more thirsty when someone asks a question when none are coming there way.

It's really freaky how everyone in this movie, pretty much, only cares about themselves. Like that girl didn't care about Bateman at all, even ignoring him telling her he's a murder, until he asks her a question about herself. You'd probably think she just didn't hear him over the music. But then they step out and: "You think all models are dumb don't you?" "No I really don't." "That's okay I don't mind. I think there is something sweet about you." Like as if she wasn't even listening. Like she already planned out what she was going to say and it didn't matter what his response was.

Ive started to think she heard it right and assumed patrick was making a sarcastic kind if joke, alot of wall street firms screw over their clients, like figuratively murdering their bank accounts and investments, hence, murder and executions, she just might not be taking what hes saying literal or serious at all

Something just occurred to me while watching this. At the end of the scene, the model says “You think I’m dumb don’t you?” “You think all models are dumb.” Bateman: “No, no I really don’t.” The model: “That’s ok I really don’t mind, there’s something sweet about you.” And then gets in the cab, sealing her fate. Which I think dumb is too strong, but if she thinks there is something sweet about Bateman, it’s at least a little gullible.

AnnexGroup Wow, I didn’t notice that. Good catch. Another thing is the preponderance of red lighting in the club. Symbolic of blood and death. Perhaps intentional, perhaps not.

It's the gullibility that makes that particular death sad for me. You have to have some level of intelligence to realise you're not so smart.

Something I think is cool: He could’ve said murders and executions and she just misheard him. But since this is a movie about a psychopath, he could’ve said “mergers and aquisitions” (which he actually does work in) and just have imagined himself saying murders and executions. Viewer’s choice on which one he said.

@Coffee Arts I'd argue the 70's were much worse, are you seriously basing your opinion of a decade on a satirical book written by a guy who was too old for that era, the same shit happens every generation, but of course when a decade is objectively bad for most people except the rich, that never counts
