When they're doing the plan with Jen at the end it's "The A-Team" theme music, referring back to when Renholm has the picture of the A-Team on his desk. If I remember right, the brief clip you reacted to previously was when they told Jen a small black box was the Internet. So out of context it wouldn't have made as much sense but as you can see from the beginning it is established that she hasn't got a clue about IT. Auntie Val that Queen Boomer is referring to is played by Tracy-Ann Oberman and Jen is played by Katherine Parkinson. You should put "Toast of London" on your list as it has Tracy-Ann Oberman in it and also Matt Berry, who will appear later in The IT Crowd.

Moss (Afro guy) is Richard Ayoade. He is a total genius. True story: when he got the role he asked the creator how he wanted the character to be played and what voice to use. The creator replied that Moss was created to just be Richard Ayoade, so be yourself. The voice is only slightly exaggerated. He is half Nigerian and half Norwegian. If you’ve never watched a Big Fat Quiz, I implore you to watch one with Richard on it (there are many.)

The boss is played by Chris Morris - an absolute legend in comedy writing. Famously Benedict Cumberbatch, when asked who he would like to work with, said Chris Morris - 'I would literally do anything he wants....'. Chris headed off and wrote most of a series called Brass Eye and another spoof news series called The Day Today. These were groundbreaking, close to the knuckle pieces of genius. An option for future reactions but you've got to know what you're getting in to! :)

If you like Chris Morris as the Boss in this, you might like him in The Day Today (which the character Alan Partridge first appeared on TV in) and Brass Eye, which he co-created. He also did a very dark comedy called 'Jam' which was ported over from a radio series called 'Blue Jam'. Both featured sketches that really pushed the boundaries of what is acceptable comedy. The best (and tamest) Jam sketches can been seen by looking on youtube for all the 'Insane Doctor Scenes' and there is a compilation of them. Chris also wrote the film 'Four Lions', a comedy about the big T. He also co wrote a spoof newspaper column as Richard Geefe, a journalist who announced in his column he was going to kill himself and write about what it was like to be staring death in the face. People thought it was real.

I have worked in IT in different areas since I started working back in 2009. The "off and on again" thing is so true, most calls you get are from "muppets" that have not tried anything or don't understand how the thing works. So the easiest solutions can solve stuff and if you troubleshoot too deep before trying the easy things you might have more issues than needed. I really love this show and many small details feel very true to actual nerds (I am one).

On a Windows computer, turning it off and on again can fix a lot of problems; as badly written programs hog the memory and don't release it right. Restarting it will fix those issues. There's a lot of things in IT like this, like telling the person to unplug it and plug it back in to scrape the contacts; and then listening to them over the phone as there is only the sound of them plugging it in; it was unplugged all along. You then log it as an Eye-Dee-Ten-Tee problem (ID10T). My son when he was four would be taken by the junior school staff from his place in nursery to plug in, and then later to unplug their computers when showing something to the kids as they didn't know how to do it; he's 34 now and works as a data guy. IT Guys is a great show, and the IT place looks like a real IT department.
