I got a new stacking washer and dryer and it's heavy and hard to move into a confined space, especially with rubber feet. Came across this quick tip and though it would make a quick video. This saved me so much trouble! All you need is some furniture polish spray: amzn.to/2SlV5cL

How can ANYONE give this a thumbs down? (I didn't have furniture polish so substituted with WD-40). I'm 108 pounds and have a one piece washer/dryer unit and could barely tug it out of a nook in my bathroom. Without this tip. I would never have been able to get it back in. That is why I searched on here for help. Thank you!!

You didn't show connecting the vent, water hoses or drain, dryer or washer power and then still have enough room to get out from behind. I'm going thru this at this very moment on a 55 unit project. We have to get 25 to 30 longer drain hoses due to wrong location and the supplied washer drain hoses being too short.I will get some furniture polish in the morning before going to work.

@@HeadingForTomorrow ok , I’m back. The guy oversimplified the re installation. We wound up using plastic lids from coffee cans, yogurt containers under the appliance feet. Also spraying side of lid contacting floor. Those 2 have to be attached together at the back with a pcs of flat bar with 4 holes for tech screws. 2 for each appliance. Also depending on situation, the stack may have to be moved out of the doorway latterly in order to access plumbing and electrical. Putting ‘coaster’ under all 4 feet prevents damage to floor, if it’s wood, when moving sideways or cross grain. Another option to move appliances is to rent an airbag system fro local rental firm , HD for instance. It is comprised of 2 paces of flat aluminum with an airbag under each. They plug into a small blower which inflates the bags then move it wherever you want. With regards to the rest of the installation, longer hoses can be ordered or made. I think the same applies to the drain hose. Make sure you use a tie wrap and screw to fasten end of drain into wall discharge port as it can buck and throw itself out spewing water all over the floor. If the power cord is not long enough, you can get made up an adapter or in RV terms a ‘dog one’ to lengthen things. Now the vent, this was more of a challenge. There is a product from the USA called ‘MagVent’.. It’s comprised of 2 pcs. One attaches to the wall and the other to the back of the dryer. One of them is magnetized. They are for 4” vents. If the wall or the allowance is 3” you’d need to make an adapter. I can help with that as well. Anyway, you need to get both pcs close to being in line with one another then slide the appliances back and the 2 sides of the Magvent will snap together in perfect alignment. You will need to get reference marks in order to have something to measure from to locate holes. Finally, you may not need the dryer vent hose at all or just a small part of it. If the holes are several inches off, you can get a pcs of ducting from HD, I think it’s 3” x 10” x about 24” long and closed off both ends. I’ll hold it there, there is more but I’d need to refer to my pictures so I could better explain. I could send pics if there was a secure way of doing it. That would make it much easier to understand on your end. It is doable. I’ve done over 50 washer and dryer installation on 2 buildings. Let me know if you want more info and pics.

@@HeadingForTomorrow You could put the dryer on a separate shelf above, I did. Also the dryer is the lighter of the 2 by far. A cleat on each side and one at the back would work. Maybe need to drill a hole to drop power if needed down lower. The appliance cavity should be 27” deep ish so there should be a stud at the back and another along the side somewhere to fasten to.

@@kerryfoster1 - the problem I have with these is that it is impossible to see what is happening behind the machines when they is moved back into place. The hoses, gas line and transition duct could all be kinked or tweaked causing a bad situation later on. I'm not surprised your daughter had that problem. I don't have a problem with stackables... IF the back of the machines are easily accessible .
