Great thanks. Just a quick question how do stop the waggler float from drifting. Can't get it to stay in one place on Lake. Cheers Steve.

plumb up dead depth , then fish slightly over say 2 inches , and degrease your line to make sure it sinks away from the surface tension, i use fairy liquid, it always works for me

Does no one else just use their main line with a float on it a few bb's either side of it and then maybe one halfway down to the hook and ya ready to go.

Which are the best float stops, every time i strike the float stops i use move down the line.

Hi Blue Yorks, the thinner your mainline the smaller the stops required. Also if the float keeps sliding down the line on the cast try putting three stops below the float.

Thanks for the helpful video. i don't have the finger strength to pinch on the weights. And i definitely don't want to use my teeth. Can you suggest something else please. Also, is there anyway to remove the shot to re-use it, I hate to be wasteful.

Small pliers and a very gentle pinch weight and to remove I use my thumb nail to push into it them and they pop off. so maybe an old card from a wallet and the edge sanded down would probably work

When attaching the Hooklength to the mainline, you should pass the loop of the mainline through the loop of the hooklength, and then pass the hook back through the mainline loop. other than that, not a bad basic video for new starters to float fishing.

I saw quite a lot of video's on waggler float setups, but i can't find anyone to explain what weight the waggler should be for any sorts of fish. So which weight should i buy for 1)trout 2)bream 3)carp?

I think it mostly depends on the conditions of the day like if its a pretty still day use a smaller float or if its windy go for a larger float hope this helps

Can't you just tie the hook directly onto the mainline without a hook to nylon?
@senorlimpio29254 жыл бұрын
You can yes but then your running the risk of breaking your mainline, losing your float hook and shot, leaving poor mr fishy towing a float and mainline around, or even breaking your rod. Use a lesser diameter line to the mainline with a loop to loop connection , that way the hook length will fail before the mainline , usually at the knot
