I feel your pain. I grew up in a home where we took out and replaced EVERY wall, electrical, plumbing, and gas, over a 10+ year period. The foundation was being destroyed by bamboo, and the walls were being destroyed by ivy. Clearing the ivy from the yard we found 2 motorcycles that were forgotten and swallowed whole, lol. Although I hated it a lot of the time, it was probably the best thing for me growing up. The knowledge and skills I learned, plus the confidence and work ethic because of it, made it 1,000% worth it. The only thing I would have changed is, by living in it as we did it, plus because of the size of the house, lead to it taking so long. So, by the time we were finished my dad was already planning the next changes/improvements to what we had already re-done. Good luck, and don't let the bs of it all get you down.

Been doing remodel for 30yrs never ever use 1/4"drywall especially on lath and plaster framing the studs are crooked as hell use 1/2 and put jamb extensions on the doors and windows if needed 1/4" drywall will be so wavy 1/2" covers more of the defective framing

AC For your safety, please remove the plaster from all the walls and the ceilings so you can remove the Knob & Tube wiring (and to get rid of the lead paint), as the wiring ages it becomes a major fire hazard (and it has no ground wire). Also your gonna need more outlets in all the rooms anyways for a modern life, so while you are waist deep might as well go for a full send.

@@merlin83221 One of my houses is literally this. They also used thumb tacks. Yes, thumb tacks. Nails, screws, starbit screws, nails... AND THUMB TACKS! They also duck taped over a hole in the wall, because, you know, dry wall is sooooo expensive. 🙄
