Because comedy sells. Think about it, Deadpool does insanely well, people love most Marvel movies, but any time a comic book movie isn't laced with jokes and lighthearted moments it seems like nobody can agree and you get comments saying "best movie ever!" and "fuck this movie, worst I've seen!" Batman vs. Superman had a lot of "where's the comedic relief?!" type comments (and even reviews on RT had a bunch of that) and I just saw people bitching about Logan "being too serious" and "no comedic relief."

I think the villain complaint is getting overplayed. Not every film has or needs a villain and its really not the point of this movie. That said I think Pierce was a fun antagonist throughout the movie and without spoiling anything the "final boss" character was the perfect choice thematically and you know Logan's clearly at a major disadvantage whenever they fight.
@HULK-HOGAN17 жыл бұрын
Exactly. This movie wasn't supposed to be about flashy explosions, powers and villains. Logan is a deeply personal, emotionally driven film, crafted to explore the human-like mentality of superheros. In the beginning he doesn't want anything to do with her, doesn't care about her and just wants to be left with the one person he does care about. Ends up blaming the death of the last person he cares about on the girl. Then grows a father daughter bond with her, and ends up sacrificing everything for her.

His adamantium had somehow been breaking down or poisoning him since he got it attached to him. I suppose, (I think the movie is in 2024 I believe) and he has had them since the late 70's (more or less.) So his healing factor was just SO strong that it wasn't really affecting him. Logan has been alive since the 1880's and he isn't immortal, so my theory is since he was in his declining years the metal was poisoning him and his healing factor couldn't hold it off anymore. They also mention the Corn Syrup thing kind of factored in the decline of mutants maybe that played a part as well.

I didn't expect it to be as good as it was. I would actually put it up there with the Dark Knight. It didn't feel like I was watching a comic book movie and that was great. Only other movie I can say that about was the Dark Knight and DK Rises. Loved this movie. Made me very emotional. Definitely shits on everything Marvel Studios has released recently. WAYYY better that Civil War, which was very overrated. X Men movies are the best cause they actually make me feel different emotions. Something the MCU movies fail to do so. A movie that had an important role played by a child-actor and actually worked ! Honestly X-23 was amazing. Maybe its because she didnt have many lines, but even those she had where not cheesy or badly delivered at all. Best child-acting in a long time ! I feel the first half was a lot better than the second half though. SPOILERS: As soon as they introduce all those new mutants it looses a lot I think. They also found some nobodies for villains in this movie that nobody will remember in the future. And also there is no way to clone Wolverine. He was one of a kind, that is why they chose him to be Weapon X in the first place...

Ningyo Chan can u please tell me how all mutants died in the film ....is it because of professor X or some kind of virus.....
@luchan16387 жыл бұрын
vvs Pranay the most plausible theory would be that charles xavier killed them...sadly it is never really explainef in the movie. But when charles started crying and said he didnt deserve it...that could be a hint for why so few mutants are left...it is still a bit weird. But i enjoyed this movie so much...it shows the more realistic side of the x men universe, even though it is fictional i know, but here logan felt truly like an antihero. Everyone struggles and has to deal with their problems. It has a much more human side to it which i liked a lot! Plus the action was well directed!

Know what would be really cool? If you invite two people to sit in with the video and let them get a single full thought out before interrupting them. That would be cool. I know it is the Angry Joe Show, but still. If you just want to hear yourself talk, don't invite others on. Also, the movie was excellent.

The beauty is it isn't really a Comic Book movie. It's a dark deconstructionist western. It's far far more Unforgiven or No Country for Old Men, and most obviously since they homage it throughout, Shane. Even a touch Old Testament at the end.

I loved it! Perfect ending for Logans story! And then it leads to these new generation X-Men twist. They could fuck it up if they decide to make more movies starring these new X-Men. I fear it tries too hard to include everyone in to this universe. That is not a bad thing, but it can be a slippery slope if not executed just right. And i oh so loved the last scene, where Wolverine was buried and the girl takes the cross out of the grave and angles it so it looks like an X!
@TheDarod17 жыл бұрын
i think caliban was a great character, his old, tired, and they imply he used to help track mutants for the "good guys", so he decided to leave that and help logan keep the professor safe, he buys them some time for them to scape, he is almost like the mother figure at the beginning if you think about it, anyway great movie, almost cried.

I respect Del's opinion, do not get me wrong, but at the same time I feel it is a bit unfair for the story arc of this film to be held in direct comparison to the comic arc. Primarily because it is an adaptive film, not a direct representation and it isn't necessarily an adaption of the Old Man Logan arc, at least not entirely

1. Most emotional movie by far - and the trailer song by J.Cash "Hurt" was so poignant; it really affected me. So well done. But HELP! Need question answered: 2. Can someone tell me please: in the movie it was quoted that Logan had something in him that was dying (physically). What is it that is making him so sick? And thank you AngryJoeShow for this video!!!!
@darianherrejon23697 жыл бұрын
HN The adamantium in his body was making him sick.
@hn53007 жыл бұрын
+DarianHerrejon Thank you! But if it was the Adamantium, why wasn't he getting sick in the other Wolverine movies - like Days of Future Past (sorry X men movies)? Or was it the cumulative effect of aging plus the Adamantium? Sorry I'm a female geek and I really am intrigued why he stopped being able to self-heal
@oooweeeoooo7 жыл бұрын
The older he gets, the slower he heals. There will eventually come a point to where his healing factor will completely burn out. Before he had his bones laced with adamantium, he healed much much faster, but since the metal is constantly poisoning his body his healing factor is working nonstop to combat it. Now that he's older, his body can't keep up with the poison. He was basically on a ticking clock the instant he was infused with the metal.
@hn53007 жыл бұрын
Bobber thank you! Where did you learn this? From the comics or did it say it in one of the movies?

*Rotten Tomatoes:* Logan: 93%, 7.9/10 Guardians of The Galaxy: 91%, 7.8/10 *Metacritic:* Logan: 77% Guardians of The Galaxy: 76% I just love how so many people think Logan is the greatest thing to ever happen to the Comic Book genre since The Dark Knight. Critical wise, it's basically on par with the most humorous comic book movie of all time, rated PG-13, has a talking raccoon and tree, and isn't dark, gritty, grounded, and super serious with heavy emphasis on drama.

@LegendaryManSlayer937 жыл бұрын
Edward Tigersoul well, i read A LOT of Logan/wolverine comics as a kid 10-15 years old. This movie really captured the spirit of wolverine. It's hard to say whether you'll like this. Most x men movies are very light hearted. This movie doesn't really have any sense of hope or comic relief. It's VERY dark compared to the rest. I don't think you need to be a fan of the comics. Are you a fan of dark, depressing, violent films? If so, you'll love this.
@fbritannia7 жыл бұрын
I liked this movie and have read a lot of comics, however my main problem is that the movie focuses to much on violence (Which is pretty good) but leaves out more development time for the relation between x23 and Logan, I didn't think this movie had a moment to earn Laura's sadness at the end of the movie. Yet Logan's relation with Charles was the best part of the movie IMO, so I don't really know what to say.
@LegendaryManSlayer937 жыл бұрын
F Britannia i think that was intentional. SPOILERS---------------------------------------- The entire film, x23 could never "reach" Logan. When they finally bond over the forest fight, he dies. Which makes Logan's last line even more tragic: "so this is what it feels like." He referring to death and finally having a family. That's my opinion.

Logan was brilliant. The thing is comics can be made to have humour or make a point about something but the thing that always makes comics great is the human element. They are always about very human stories, its great to finally see some movies which capture that instead of just being action for the sake of action. Nothing wrong with the Marvel movies but I am so glad to see some of this more human side coming through in movies.
