I LOVE LOVE LOVE this update on the animals. You have figured out how to make life fun and never boring. As the world ranchers are selling off their cattle due to droughts & little hay production, our future prices for meat is going to break the bank for most families. Mother Nature is in charge. While the ponds are dry, it’s the perfect time to clean them out. That way, when the rains come, the pond can hold more water. Deeper the pond, the better. Surface space allows for more/ faster evaporation. Even if you have the ponds cut 2’ deeper, it will be a benefit. This also give the opportunity to clean the edges and smooth out dips and valleys where the cattle track the edges. It also would hurt to run your pigs in a pond area that’s about dried up. They help clean up the pond(s) as well. They will wollow the banks and pack some of the loose/soft dirt. Making for a more stable edge.
