The lesson I take from Anthony is this: if you know you have talent-and that comes from a mix of self-belief and surrounding yourself with honest, supportive friends and family-don’t chase what’s popular just to find success. The reason is simple: if you succeed at something that isn’t true to you, you could end up living a life you didn’t really choose. Yes, knowing you’re talented but not being fully appreciated for years (or even decades) must be brutal. But the flip side-having the world eventually come around to you, creating your own space, and staying true to yourself in the process-is incredibly inspiring. I remind myself of this when I see people younger than me or less skilled getting ahead. It brings me back to one of my favorite Steve Martin quotes: “Be so good, they can’t ignore you.”
@drockopotamus1Ай бұрын
I don't personally see that as inspiring. If you want success, you need fans. Gambling on the world just "getting" you one day is terrible advice. More often than not, that will end up in failure. If anything, use every metric available to find success and then tweek it in the ways that work for you. At least that way you're more inclined to succeed while still allowing yourself some freedom of expression. I think the cold-hard truth is that sometimes what we want isn't what the world is willing to accept. And since we can't force people to like our methods, we have no choice but to adapt and give room for compromise in order to find success.
@seanleflochАй бұрын
@ you make some really good points. My was hoping that when I mentioned that you need trusted people around you to advise you cover that aspect. All too often these days content becomes a race to the bottom with the number one goal of likes, comments, and subscribers. if that was the only thing that Anthony was going off of earlier in his career, then he probably wouldn’t be the success that he is today. Appreciate the conversation.
@myflatlineconstruct13 күн бұрын
@drockopotamus1 Your messure of success is imo , bland. I have an array of personality to look up to, most without the wealth you admire. Fred (Mr. Rogers) Rogers, made a fraction in dollars that you climb for. An absolute Titan of positive impact, broke as a joke by your metric. EDIT: more on topic. DOUG STANHOPE , comedy hero, never panderd that I've heard. If he did, sure that he's made some jokes self deprecating.
