I deleted this in 2020 because after the whole minaxjimin thing people came here to hash it out. There were some real scary comments coming for Jimin, it's ok to have an opinion or not like her but trying to rally up people to get Jimin blocked on all Social Media and harass her accounts was just not ok. Anyways, things have died down and the AOA girls stories are some of the most interesting (imo) on what long term abuse from your company can do to an idol's mental state.

From a neighbor's testimonial, Jimin seems to be living a life of what some would call a "hermit". She's rarely seen outside her home basically, like I understand the situation but the malicious comments go way to far in situations such as this. Sometimes there's little to no evidence, but of course certain fans blow the matter out of proportion going as far as to demand whichever idol must leave their group. After thinking about the Mina/Jimin situation I feel like still not enough people are putting the blame on FNC. I cannot IMAGINE the daily stress and pressure Jimin was under while in AOA. Especially being the eldest and leader. Jimin was probably expected to be responsible for all of the things her members did. If one of them did something “wrong” I’d imagine Jimin would get the brunt of the blame. It’s no wonder she was such a strict leader. She was probably forced to be. It’s because of FNC that all of this happened. They created a toxic and stressful work environment from the start. They set everything in motion for something like this to happen, then they threw Jimin under the bus and failed to protect her. EVERYONE in AOA was abused and it’s a shame that we tend to blame either entirely Jimin or entirely Mina and not FNC.

Even if Mina’s allegations HAD been true, a lot of people don’t understand that bullying tends to happen in environments where people are pushed past their limits mentally and don’t have a proper outlet for their stress (which is why it’s so common in schools). If an idol is caught bullying, they should 100% be held accountable for their own actions, but the agency should also be held accountable for forcing such an environment. Regardless of what may have actually happened behind the scenes, all of these members deserve to be healthy and happy.

Every idol picture is edited, even the ones from the news, they are all edited. It's most likely that the photos she uploaded, the ones with dark circles or looking boney are simply unedited or posed, taken from an angle that shows her actual thinness. Most idols look like walking skeletons but you don't get to notice because you see the pictures uploaded by the company, themselves, or filtered videos by music- award shows, when they all look fully covered in clothes, full face and makeup done. Also, Jimin has always been a fan of that grunge, messy aesthetic, she loves rockstars and Nana, I don't find her posts as clickbaity as you make it look but more like Jimin glamorizing her own destruction, even her tattoos clarify that.

When I was a kid, I loved aoa and I was a Jimin stan. This was around the time when they were popular and I legit had all their songs on my iPod. I ended up distancing myself from kpop a bit during high school to focus on my grades and got back into it in college and pretty much forgot about aoa and then I remembered their old songs and wanted to know what was going on. I remember seeing how much Jimin changed, I hardly recognized her and I was saddened that she felt the need to change herself to that extent. But more than anything, I hoped she was happy with those changes. Then, the Mina allegations came out after that and my gut instinct was to side with Mina and the way that Jimin acknowledged it had me believe Mina more. Then it just kept going and going and honestly, I wasn’t sure what to believe because I never thought of jimin as that bad of a leader. But we don’t know these people irl, you know? But I thought it could be misunderstandings. But I believed it anyway. And I’m sad about that because this is a very big gray area. It is two people misinterpreting each other and it got to this proportion. So I’m sorry, Jimin. I hope you’re doing well. It’s crazy how big this all got and no hate to her or Mina. They both just need to be able to move on with their lives. They’re both still young. I hope they can let this all go in the end

Her weight loss seems natural to me. She's grown in height since she was 14, so her weight "stretched" out more on her body. Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not a fan of IVE nor Iz*one.

There are no angels and no demons, just people who make mistakes, and more importantly, cultures where certain types of abuse flourish. The hierarchical culture giving those with seniority/status and age more respect and power, and the industry culture of working beyond human limits both bred a situation that was harmful.

Wish they could all work it out … miss AOA!!

I just feel like in korean sociaty people will keep a nice face, while hiding a mean persona that blows up in those anonimous media foruns and blogs. How can people be so mean? I don't see such hateful words in western media and even in other asian medias D: Yes there are anti fans in any mediatic circle, but it's so intense in the k-industry.
@yutohatesyou64913 жыл бұрын
Its not just korean its a whole asia trust me im half korean and lived in korea for most of live people always oh my god asian ppl are so nice blah blah but literally one of the most if not the most important is keeping up your public image bc in asian culture what other ppl think of you is more important that what you think of yourself and keeping public peace that why asian people are so nice to your face but will shit talk like very two face which is exactly more shown as you can see on the internet forum and media where you can stay anonymous (im not talking abt all asians btw dont generalize ppl and there are good ppl just like in every race)

I feel like although western comments can be like that, at least there’s never any kind of delusion to it existing. Meanwhile people legitimately think kpop is this wonderful beautiful polite little thing, as if it’s not exactly the same exploitative industry like in the west, except it’s hidden but it still attracts an audience that reacts similarly or even worse to stuff. It reminds me a lot of the way Hollywood was perceived in its golden age.

if you think about it, more than half of all female Kpop idols are probably underweight. I regularly see numbers like 1.65 m and 46 kg together, which is most definitely underweight.

People comment on someone's body.. Criticise them if they do change themself.. Just spread hate towards that person.. Commenting on their body and face.. And when they decides to end their life.. These same people feel sorry for them and some even call them weak... Why don't this audience just keep their mouths shut.. Praise the music ànd talent.. Think twice before you comment on someone's body and their appearance.. Don't push the idols soo much that taking their own life seems easy to them than tolerating your hate.. People did same with shinee's jonghyun f(x) 's sulli ànd go hara.. Please be nice with your words..

honestly the comments and opinions (this is coming from someone isn't a fan of AOA) fricking inraged me like the amount of selfishness (the commenters believing that their version of beauty is all that to the point of basically doing what they accused Jimin of doing: bullying/as if the every Korean knows who this famous Korean guy is, ITS A FRICKING GAME) from this knetizens is skyrocketing.

No one is saying that bullying is okey or excusing her behavior. They are grown adults and have apologized etc, we dont need to drag it. At the end of the day they are humans and not just something u can watch. I hope they both have a peaceful life without ppl watching and commenting on their every step.
@strawberryruiyang17923 жыл бұрын
Their is no proof of bullying
@babyanie46733 жыл бұрын
There's more proof against the bullying than there is for it. Contrary to what so many kpop stans spread Jimin never apologized for bullying Mina. Her Instagram still has the message up there she apologized for not being a good leader which backs up what Choa told her in the leaked transcript. “You need to apologize because you're the oldest and the leader.” Even though Jimin said she didn't remember what Mina was alleging she apologized for her the way things turned out. We also have words from Soelhyun and AOA staff that also backs up what Choa said about Mina. Their staff said they were scared of her and Choa said Mina has a tendency to be emotional. Also contrary to what Kpop stans spread Mina WAS already experiencing mental health problems which she hid from Jimin and the rest of AOA up until Jimins father passed away. Mina was SA and abused by her parents. Her sister even says Mina was wrong and need to apologize, she also says Mina’s mother has the same mental issues. I could go on and on about the inconsistencies in Mina’s story and her mental health but, the point is I don’t think it’s fair or right for people to label Jimin as a bully.
@hyunjinhwang8523 жыл бұрын
she never bullied anyone, that's the point

Honestly Jimin taught us not to assume too much about a situation. I used to think I was unbiased, even though I didn’t leave any hate comments on the situation I realised how unobjective I was when supporting Mina. yeah I’m taking an L for this and will be giving up my title as a “unproblematic” fan of Kpop, I honestly feel really awful
