Hardly a point to complain about a 1080p monitor being 1080p ;-) There's a "Q" model that cobers 1440p. I chose the 1080p version because I don't want (default) tinier typefaces, I want an easily readable picture and thi is just right. Also great for gaming framerates, of course.

What do you think about the white/black levels on this monitor? I went to a friend's house and he had an IPS monitor as well, but damn, the IPS glow was really bothering me, also, the "white" (like on google, amazon, reading a document, etc.) wasn't really white, it was... slightly dirty and yellowish?? We watched a few episodes of an anime and like, there was a very dark prison scene where the IPS glow just butchered it, the whole scene looked like dark blue. I couldn't even see the face of the black guy in the cell. (I'm not joking, I swear).
@TechyTalkUK3 жыл бұрын
The white balance is something that can be tweaked in the menus. Difficult to do precisely without a colorimeter but you can just play around with the colours in the user colour mode until it looks right. As for IPS glow, it really depends on your priorities. If sitting back and watching a movie in a dark room is a priority for you when buying a gaming monitor then, yes, IPS glow can be annoying (depending on your viewing angle) and the better contrast of a VA panel might be preferred. However, for everything else (work, general desktop use, and gaming) the better colour stability, overall viewing angles and faster response time (compared to VA) of IPS means I'd always recommend it.
@FukurouYGR3 жыл бұрын
@@TechyTalkUK Hmm thanks for the reply! I mean I was right in front of the monitor and still got a bad IPS glow and couldn't really tell what was going on in those dark scenes. Also I play A LOT of dark games, and if IPS Glow is gonna ruin my experience with those then I think my best bet is to get a VA/TN panel.

@TechyTalkUK3 жыл бұрын
I would generally recommend wqhd for 27in but it depends on where you have the screen and what you use it for, plus wqhd is quite a lot more expensive. A bIgger screen can be nicer for when you want to sit back and watch video or if you have a deep desk - you can have the screen further back on the desk. But if you only ever sit close and have a small desk then you might prefer the 24in. I've just got in the 24G2U (and seven other 24in gaming monitors!) and will be posting a review soon - it's great!

@TechyTalkUK4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! There are a few alternatives - a few more than I thought, actually, having just checked again - but the AOC is the cheapest and you don't lose anything in terms of features to the more expensive models. Without stepping up to a higher resolution (or refresh rate - 240Hz models are now available but for just under twice the price), there's no reason that I can see to spend more. If you can't find this particular monitor, the LG 27GL650F-B and Viewsonic XG279S should be good alternatives, depending on price in your area.

I bought this monitor and I want to set up GSync but I can't find this option on Nvidia Panel. Any suggestions?
@TechyTalkUK3 жыл бұрын
Make sure you're using display port with a decent cable. I forget if anything needs enabling in the monitors menus, such as a freesync option. If so, that will need enabling and that should then provide the option in Nvidia control panel.
@mihneathg573 жыл бұрын
@@TechyTalkUK I am using the HDMI cable that comes with the monitor and I plugged it in the HDMI port of my RTX
@TechyTalkUK3 жыл бұрын
I believe Gsync won't work on this monitor over HDMI. The fact that it doesn't come with a DisplayPort cable is something I missed in my review, so apologies for that. You can pick one up for very little on Amazon though.

@@TechyTalkUK one more question. How can I change the response time to 1ms?
@bojantottiz2 жыл бұрын
@@mihneathg57 You will not get 1 Ms response time even though it's advertised that you will. It is best to keep the Overdrive setting on Strong to have least amount of ghosting and to have the great response time.

I am planning to use this monitor for office work. Have you tried opening three word files side by side? Or is it just good for games?
@TechyTalkUK4 жыл бұрын
It definitely wouldn't fit them all so they're visible. You can't even do that with two docs on a 1080p resolution screen like this.

So you were playing Apex Legends in nthe video .. i see that its not that Smooth Gameplay is that because the Monitor is bad or you couldnt Reach 144 HZ because of your Graphic Card !!?
@TechyTalkUK4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I shot that footage using my spare PC and it only has a GTX 1060 so was only getting 40-60fps - I really should get it upgraded. Tested the monitor using a GTX 1080ti in my main rig though.

Does it support Freesync over HDMI? Is there any benefit using a DP with it?
@mandeepdhillon50053 жыл бұрын
well dp gives more bandwidth and a more stable connection overall plus low latency hdmi is usually cheaper but downside you can't use 240hz or higher refresh rates with hdmi so to justify this answer dp is better :)
