I cannot help myself when it comes to Discus. I absolutely love them and have spent thousands of Dollars on them in the past. I do not have many anymore due to a smaller Aquatic space. Maybe more Discus in the near future. My personnel favorites are Reds and Spotted varieties. Thank you for sharing :)

Remarkable. I'm sure it took a lot of planning, trial and error. Fantastic that it's set up the way it is allowing him to manage everything himself. Anyone looking to set up a breeding facility, or even a smaller hobby breeder could learn a lot from him. this was really interesting.

What a smart facility. And quite small too. I can't believe he's able to raise enough stock from a facility of that size. His business would be much bigger if he would scale up, since he requires a minimal of labor.

Wonderful place. Fascinating technology. To a target a specific Ph value..will need a Ph controller calibrated to achieve the desired Ph value with the buffering capacity to retain the Ph parameter. It's complicated and costly. It's more important to keep them in stable values than seek a specific value adding chemicals to the water.

It seems like a lot of people are scared away from Discus due to perceived high cost. But they look at full-grown fish. The same $2-300 you'd spend for some amazing single adult, will also buy you 5 or 6 juveniles. $35-45 each for juveniles isn't crazy money. L# plecos cost that all day.

They need to genetically modify discus so that they don't require such high water temperatures and also not require pristine water conditions. Genetically modify them to mke them as hardy as common tilapia.
