Took one-on-one lessons with Jared years ago. I still use a lot of his exercises to this day and they REALLY made a difference, it's the real deal. Wouldn't be the player that I am today if it wasn't for him. Incredible teacher, can highly recommend his approach. Thanks so much 🤘

I took a couple as well and they blew my mind. Thanks to him I can get through 10% of an Archspire song at 50% speed!!! Seriously though, Jared is awesome. Please put more of him on this channel :)

Man we need more lessons for bass! With a bunch of bedroom projects, almost all of them using virtual bass libraries, we need to step it up and make these kids realize how much of a difference a fantastic bassist makes.

Jared is an absolute monster on bass. Also, this is a great way to practice. This is how I learn riffs.

Cool video and I love Jared's playing but we're all still waiting to hear who the new dummer is. Was really hoping it was Kevin but since he's out I'm hoping it's John.

Awesome. I'm hoping to get a bass guitar this year and give playing bass a go. Lefty though, so they are hard to find on a small budget.
@AThousandSons1Күн бұрын
unless you already play guitar just learn righty, its going to be incredibly alien regardless of direction if it will be your first stringed instrument and not limiting to lefties means you can play all make/model/neck profiles not what manufacturers limit lefties to. My 2 cents from my days in a guitar shop.
@Benobot99Күн бұрын
@AThousandSons1 While that makes sense, I've already been doing hammer-ons, pull-offs, tapping, etc for 15+ years on Guitar Hero and eventually Clone Hero as a lefty, so it is very natural/comfortable to play lefty (and I write lefty). I also played guitar lefty in high-school (for 1 semester) and both my BC Rich Warlock Revenge and accoustic/electric Ibanez are lefty. I am very much committed to staying lefty but I appreciate the help. Plus Paul Gray (Slipknot) was lefty (I believe) so I'm a bit inspired by him.
@AThousandSons1Күн бұрын
@@Benobot99 totally respectable just gotta make sure you know it's a nightmare to "try before buying", wish you best of luck! I'm an ernie ball stingray guy myself, and they definitely make lefties!

This lesson was fantastic, the graduated speed increases are perfect for play along, I was able to keep up till the very end, which surprised me! It's actually a very simple technique when broken down and taught well like this, and I can already feel the gears turning about other ways to utilize the technique: other intervals, shifting the motion around on the fretboard with chord changes to created arpeggiated melodies... now I have a fun new toy to play with in my own practicing -- great lesson!

I started learning drums when I was 12 after already playing guitar for 3 years. I never remembered consciously coming across triplets before I started on drums and I could NOT get my head around them - I had to play them with weird rudiments as RLRRLRR instead of the normal RLRLRLR. One day though, they just *clicked* and I was like "why did I struggle with this so much before?!"

This is very beginner stuff, how about a follow-up with how to move the tapping around and how to tap beyond the initial shape and hit notes with right hand to be more interesting.
