HI, where does the vent line/vacuum hose (clear one on carb) go? Does it go to the vacuum spot on the fuel pump?

I'm currently in the process of replacing carb on my 2003 arctic cat 500. I am having a HELL of a time getting the carb back onto the rubber boot that connects it to the intake. Got any tips or tricks for this?

Cleaned carb and replaced damage parts. Now its running high idle.

@@MidNebraskaMotorsports I ended up taking it apart again to triple check the carb for correctness, and with plans to adjust the idle screw (the reason for this is because, while it was idling high, I tried to back out of the garage, and was getting this loud rattling sound from the left side near the recoil rope). Put it back together and turned the gas valve on, and then gas started overflowing out the drain tube. So went back to researching. Please correct me, but the overflowing is most likely related to the float and float plunger (ordered replacements, and a float level gauge- although the floats come pre set). The high idle was probably coming from a incorrect float level. I also diagnosed, that the vehicle will have trouble shifting into gear with that high idle. Thanks!

@@MidNebraskaMotorsports Received my parts, rebuild carb this around. Now it works like a champ. However, I have always had trouble with the gear shift lever. Sometimes it wont shift out out of reverse. I noticed that if I turn the artic cat off, and back on, the shifting works fine. Could you tell me what I should look at?

@@MidNebraskaMotorsportsyup. Just lowered the idle by tightening the free play cable. It was completely loose. Shifting fine now. Im thinking of getting one of those cheap tachometers to get the idle on point. Thanks for your help. Now all I need to do, is purchase a dump cart!

I need help finding a carbeurator for my arctic cat 500 made in 2000 can someone link me a carbeurator that WILL work? The other carbs ive ordered either leak fuel, hydro lock the engine. Or won’t meter enough fuel and air or will meter it excessively.
