Our current governor here in Washington State ( oh, and for good measure, our Attorney General as well...) has led the way prohibiting the sale of semi auto rifles and shotguns as well as magazines that hold more than ten rounds. Whenever there is a news article about suspects being charged with crimes, one you will commonly see is "POSSESSION OF A FIREARM BY A CONVICTED FELON." Sure, but the problem is that "infringed" is a big word to those on the left. They hear it and an hour later are still scratching their heads, trying to figure out what it means. If the US Constitution was rewritten in everyday 21st century English, "infringed" would be replaced by "messed with" or something equal to that. My bigger issue with safe storage laws is the additional financial burden to exercise your rights. The left will say voter ID is an unconstitutional poll tax because some people might need to pay a $2 bus fair to get to the DMV for their free ID, but somehow requiring one spend hundreds of dollars on a safe as a barrier to exercise your 2nd amendment rights is totally kosher.

If Mr. Smith can't have a SMG with 30 rounds, neither can Mr. Politician and he can't get around that law by using a security detail because, just like any normal person, he doesn't have one. I live in seattle area and work in the STEM field. As im pretty sure you can guess a lot of anti gunners at my work. I was having a conversation with a co worker and he asked me why i felt the need to have a gun. I broke down my reasons... i then asked him what if someone broke into your house, what would you do... he said "idk probably let them take whatever they wanted"... he just got engaged and hes head ove heels for this girl, so i then looked him dead in the eyes and said "what if they wanted your fiancé" his jaw hit the floor and he legit.said "ohh i never even thought about that". The most basic thought to most of us never even crossed his mind. He was thinking about them stealing a few electronics and valubles. Im like "What about your life?" Lol i swear most people live in a little buble of perceived saftey... dont realize how quickly that bubble can get popped. Once you start asking the hard hitting questions they acually stsrt thinking for themselves instead of repeating the ol status quo "guns are bad".. im going to send him this video to further drive home the point.

Clint Smith once said that your handgun is what you use to fight your way to your RIFLE! I have some of each around my apartment, each in a READY-TO-GO state. I live alone and never have visitors to my home. I AGREE with you, Colion, ABSOLUTELY 100%. For many folks, an AR-15 is the best home defense firearm. People need to wake up and realize these 'secluded' and 'safe' neighborhoods are target rich environments for criminals. I say that because almost everyone is going to drop their guard all because they 'feel safe.' Stay on your A game and always be aware of what comes and goes. Having security camera's is one big help too.

No more than 8 rounds, but also, civilians are untrained. So which is it? A civilian is supposed to be able to pick off multiple hostiles under pressure with just 8 rounds, but be untrained at the same time. If you can neutralize 3 opponents with 8 bullets, you should be a navy SEAL. If everyone in this equation has 8 bullets per gun, that still leaves them with 24 bullets. So even if everyone follows mag limits, the defender is still outgunned.

Agreed. I can't see how safe storage laws don't violate the 4th amendment. They require you to store private property in means of state control. Imagine if there was laws all cars. These laws require the car to be in garages no matter what, or power tools like drills and powersaws in locked safes it.making it illegal to be in an unlocked toolshelf with the battery in them. The only way to enforce it is unannounced searches and inspections.
