I find your tutorials are the best for both introductory and advanced levels. I'm new to Houdini so i am biased to wanting less advanced tutorials but am just really happy you're making the time to create them.

Hi Arvid , yes im enjoying houdini a lot. I would like to see more advanced tutorials covering the parts of karma and solaris that its not teach a lot. Like how to do a correct sampling to avoid all the noise of renders, the aovs, how to setup correctly the solaris option : "render as simple process" and how to render complex scenes without the render stops . Thanks for your teaching!!

this is great. Some more advanced setups will be useful. Aslo show how to wortkin solaris with renderman and other render engines

You can create a gobo for a distant light using a light projection filter in orthographic mode, going to an image or a UV texture, then into the tint of a gel filter. That way you can make tree shadows into your sunlight, as you'd want.

now with the release of 20.5 I would love to see you make an update to your "create photorealistic environments with solaris +usd", maybe create a new scene, scatter bunch of assets - light it and just cover the entire process and see what changed / got easier / better since last time, love the content keep it up!

really great introduction to lighting tools in solaris! about the lens material at 23:45 houdini now will generate the karma lens material automatically when you press that button, so no need to setup manually again!

Arvid, can I ask what was the hotkey to bring the gobo editor into a seperate UI, for you to use back outside in stage, so you don't have to go back inside everytime you want to make adjustments.

It's the parameters panel, I have it assigned to ctrl spacebar. but it's a custom hotkey I made

Great Tutorial, Thanks for that. the DoF , Focus Distance set in the Karma Render Viewport doesn't work always. Karma Render needs to reset, restart again to refresh. It is a refresh issue sometimes

there have been loads of improvements with newer houdini versions. especially in Solaris. So other than updating to the latest version, I don't have any other suggestions
