I have felt the same way! I felt hopeless, but it doesn’t help when I’m walking away from God, it helps when I came near to God. And His Word is so true, “When you come near to God, He WILL come near to you.” And I love that you feel better, because it is just so tough when that feeling of hopelessness occurs. So, I pray that you will come near to God and have the reminders of God’s Word by your side, and that we have the opportunity to have hope cause of Jesus.🤍

Every other weekly reunion I tell my friends I've prayed for each friend I have today, because I did. I’m 14 and in 8th grade. This is my second year at this new school from moving across the country, and just after making the closest friends I’ve ever had, I’m going to a different high school than everyone next year. I go to a public school right now, and next year I’m going to a Christian private school. I’ve felt worried that I wasn’t going to make friends and people would stay away from me because my relationship with God isn’t as close as theirs, but this video changed my view on it. My friends are great friends but this has opened my eyes none of my friends here are Christian or Godly in any way, and their fruit is not the kind I want to be around and grow with. I believe I will find new great Godly friends at this new school (plus they will all be Christian) who will stick with me my whole life! I don’t know what to expect, but I’m excited. This school will be really good for me. Pray that my brother and I will not have fear at this new school and we will make lots of friends that is in God’s will and are meant to be in our life! @Bethy Salyers, i’m starting high school next year too. while i have not moved across the country like you, i moved from a public school to a private Prep school after sixth grade. and when i say that it’s truly been the best decision of my life, I LOVE IT! there i met my best friend, whom at the time i wasn’t even aware that i truly needed. she is one of the most God-loving people i’ve ever met. just keep praying for friends in your life that can relate to your passions, bring out the best in you, and especially push you closer towards the Lord! i know that it’s hard to let go of past relationships when it’s all you have (been there), but just remember that you are never alone with Jesus by your side like Ashley said in the video! i will be praying for you too, bethy! 💗

I am glad to have found you. I was raised a pagan with random church influences over the years. I have felt the warmth that comes with Faith but constantly struggle between the two religions. There is a lot of weight and conflicting emotions that come with it all so finding your videos has actually been so... warming. Thank you. It's near impossible to find content that makes me feel welcome, not overwhelmed, and just... has that 'feel good' vibe that I want in this search. When I do this, I feel an inexplainable peace (even when my circumstances are deffo not peaceful at all!), and I take that as confirmation that God is with you. I’ve been praying for new friends. A girl came up to me on target and invited me to her Bible study. I was so excited because God answered that prayer. Fast forward, I’m in Bible study on zoom with these girls. The study starts to feel funny. They are saying the study is primarily for me. They then start saying I’m not saved yet because I don’t understand what it is to be a disciple of christ yet. I went with it though. The study was exhausting. They demanded a lot of my time everyday of the week. I started feeling anxious and Questioning my faith and walk with Jesus. They then told me I needed to be baptized again to really be saved ( I was already baptized a year prior to meeting them ). I went along with it though but deep down I knew I was saved. I have a amazing testimony that brought me to Jesus but that’s a story for another time. Any who I went and got baptized again. I was then told I must sign up for a pledge card and tithe and I cannot miss Sunday church. I was told it was unacceptable. I work Sundays and I do 24 shifts on each of these Sundays. They told me I needed to try and change my schedule and trust God to provide. They were basically telling me to quit my job to come to church. I told them I’m not gonna quit my job to attend church. So I reached out to my discipler ( the women who came up to me in target ) I told her something didn’t feel right with her church and I was gonna have to step away and seek God about it but would like to still be friends. She asked me to explain why with biblical evidence but I couldn’t at the time I just had a knowing. I felt like I shouldn’t even try to respond because she wouldn’t listen to me anyway. Any way, time went on and she slowly stopped responding to my texts. She completely cut me out. I learned her church is part of a cult later down the line. They are called the ICC church or the international church of Christ. I was broken and felt so stupid. I trusted to quick because they called themselves Christian. I’m now learning that I need to test the spirits and the fruit of each person. I’m new in my walk. Been saved about 3 years now. Learning a lot since then.

This has been so helpful! I started going to church on my own about a month ago and I went 3 of the events by myself, it was terrifying but I’ve met so many amazing people already! I put myself out there, pushed fear to the side and it’s paid off. I’ve also been praying for community! I will say during my first service that I attended by myself, I was about 2 songs in and was going to leave, but the ladies sitting next to me were so friendly and made me feel welcome. Always remember to make newcomers feel welcome!

Everything about this is 🔥♥🙌 But is it just me of does the UK lack things like worship nights and social bible studies? I know of some big ones in London, but I've just moved to Scotland and can't seem to find _any_ near me. But she had a terrible habit of putting me down and trying to compete with me over everything. Thank you Ashley for this video! I appreciate how you listed the green flags and red flags in friends and also it ties with relationships like you stated. Friendships are platonic relationships and then you have your significant other type relationships as well. So it can work for all the above. I have decent friends right now that I met at Starbucks but lifestyles are different and we’re all changing each day of course. However, all my friends are either raised Catholic or another denomination and now some are atheists or spiritual which I accept all people. Unfortunately, I’m working on becoming a fully devoted Christian and continuously changing my lifestyle. I believe I found a church that has events where other Christians can attend called “The Porch” in Dallas, Texas on Tuesdays I want to try it. woah, i am continually reminded of the four friendship categories (core, circle, community, and crowd) and it’s given me a lot of clarity recently. God is showing me through this stage in my life that it is okay to have smaller groups of people that i feel lift me up and help me grow as a Christian! i’m starting high school this fall, and i can’t wait to grow in relationship with new friends. your advice will always be there for me, Ashley ;) 💕🙂🫶🏻

Thank you so much for this! I was just praying to God last night telling Him how lonely I felt. I've never really had Godly friendships before. I only just recently recieved Christ in my life again, and during that season He gave me two friends. One guy and one girl. However, the guy and I ended up getting romantically attached, and though we love each other deeply as friends and have this beautiful God-centered friendship we decided to stop hanging out as often because I wasn't allowed to date yet, and we didn't want to rush what wasn't allowed yet. He's also studying in a school so far from me--we're regions apart. So I rarely get to see him face to face, and God always seems to intervene whenever we have a chance to see each other. Like He's telling us "not yet." The girl is is his best friend, she lives in Canada now though. My family also stopped returning to church regularly after the lock down, so I'm usually holed up at home on Sundays and it's been hard for me to find Godly friendships in the college I go to. I have a best friend, but she's still.. not quickened by the Holy Spirit, and she's from a few grades lower than me due to personal reasons that delayed her--so our schedules have a hard time being in sync. I just long to have a community who I can engage with consistently. My online groups are pretty irregular and I've had no avail in finding a ministry. Maybe I'm not trying hard enough? I get so lonely, and I know it's dangerous for a Christian not to have a community. That was something I learned when I rekindled my relationship with Christ after backsliding. But now it seems like God is hedging me in. Does He want me to be alone? Everything is just so messy right now--on top of all this, I'm not doing so well in my personal walk with Christ either. I'm frustrated with my family not choosing to go to church--I wish I could go by myself, but I know that's something they'll take offense to. Please pray for me :(( I feel so touch starved.

I am new to Christianity and my family doesn’t go to church. So I would have to go alone. I have been super busy from volleyball on Sundays and haven’t started to go to church. School is almost done so I will bike to church on Sundays. I’m scared to!

As a Christian man, godly friends are important. The American Heart Association says loneliness increase your chances for a heart attack ♥ 😇 The Holy Spirit will guide you.

My best friend isn’t Christian, but she has like the fruits of the spirit I would say. She’s almost always kind, she rarely gets angry, she’s peaceful, she cares for me in good and bad times and so do I, she’s gentle and always wants to help, she’s empathic, she gives everyone a chance, she doesn’t really gossip (I sometimes don’t know what’s the difference between gossiping and just telling the truth about someone and for example telling how much they hurt you) and she dresses modest although she doesn’t even have to (well it’s basically just her style but I bet she doesn’t even know that that is modest) so if she would believe in God she would be a very good Christian
