Inflammation can come from not shampooing. Shampoo is vital. Clogged hair follicles can lead to hair loss.

I get it if bobby or hair pins touch my scalp took me a year to figure out that was the cause. Also unwashed new synthetic hair, if I wear a new wig I have to wash it first.

Fragrance could be exacerbating the inflammation of the scalp. I have a history of psoriasis. I went to a black dermatologist who made me aware at the time, that hair relaxers often exacerbate psoriasis. I had steroid shots twice in 2007, along with a prescription strength hair regimen. I have not had a flare up since. I big chopped in May of 2015. After turning 40, I can no longer tolerate heavily scented hair products. They cause my scalp to itch and smelling them aggravates me.

Is tea tree oil best to use on it own or should I thin it down with a carrier oil , I’d of thought it would be very strong tea tree oil ?!

I dont use anything in my hair had to shave it. Whatever it is does not itch, buildup inflammation causing creasing or overlapping ,painful, skin mucous membranes, and nails are effected. Have CBC results deficiency in potassium and vitamin D with T. Peroxidase and inflammatory markers .Have seen 2 dermatologist

Lool hows he saying don’t go to a dermatologist but go to a hair stylist / trichologist who knows about skin? I’ve actually been to both because I have hair shedding due to inflammation on scalp because of seborrheic dermatisis it’s itchy but I had no luck with any of them… all of them are rubbish they just want your money

Hi, Dickey! I am a 4c texture severe breakage,specifically the edges. What is a regime or repair system help to regrow and maintain edges? I currently weat head wrap about 80 to 90% of the time and wash and go at 3 to 4 times a week!

Martha Israel Taking off the head wrap will likely solve the breakage on your edges. The constant rubbing is likely taking out your hair.
