Wow he def doesn't seem to have a good relationship with his monitors. The way he had to grab and catch them was pretty rough and somewhat questionable 🤔 As soon as Kenan puts his hands on the lil lady lacey, she stopped trying to nip and squirm. Kenan has the mighty monitor touch and these animals can feel his energy and his love and respect for them. I love how Kenan always respects the way ppl handle their lizards, even though he most likely knows how to handle them a million times better. Ppl forget he has his own lizards and his lizards are pretty damn awesome 👌

@crocdoc29 жыл бұрын
+Alex Crowder Australia has around 1000 species of native reptile, more than any other country or continent on Earth. It's not surprising that exotics aren't allowed in, given that they can cause ecological disasters or introduce diseases not currently present here. The question is, with this many reptiles to choose from why would someone want to bring others in?

You're in luck! Some of my sources tell me that Lace Monitors do exist outside of Australia and will hopefully pop up again. Someone I know hatched 5 of them a few years ago. Apparently, they're pretty difficult to get rid of. One person had sold one and later sold it on fauna classifieds. Another source told me over the past 6 years there have been at least half a dozen in the classified section of a forum site. Here is some more news: there’s an Asian guy in South FL also who breeds Lace Monitors here and there, but I don't know his name. There is a guy named John (3240?) who breeds them in the US. The only person I know of in the US who was breeding them was Frank Retes (Kingsnake.com monitor forum) in Arizona but I don't think he's produced a clutch in years. One source said that Lace Monitors have been sold in the US but females are extremely rare and seldom sold. 9 out of 10 lace monitors that have been for sale in the U.S. are males. There have been pairs and trios on kingsnake. There are a few breeders, in the U.S., Prehistoric Pets (has his own KZbin channel: prehistoricpetstv), and Dan from Arizona are two that I have found. On a side note, a guy in the UK breeds the Bells phase locale. That is a little information on Lace Monitors in the US that I have been able to recover.

@boovaher8 жыл бұрын
+Kamp Kenan - if the Lacies got out in Florida, you would have a larger problem than you do with the Burms... Lacies, unlike snakes, will settle around people and become rather unconcerned. In suburbia they raid garbage bins, attack dogs and cats that threaten them, crash your yard parties and pinch your tucker and happily take care of a lot of your own native species. Bird eggs are a specialty. Nom Nom.

I can see the wisdom in Aus not letting animal imports in but I think they should reconsider exports. They could insist these animals be captive bred thereby helping the local economy and protecting those in the wild as well as building up a reserve. For instance, I don't think Perentie are all that plentiful even there.

hey Kennan hook a fellow bmxer up and stuff a varanus gouldii in your luggage and smuggle him back to the states for me. you and I will be the only ones who know, well besides the NSA they are probably reading this but it's not their department, you know how government jobs work. lol
@alexcrowder16738 жыл бұрын
Dude just yesterday AT a reptile shop, I bumped into an NSA and an FBI wifi network that was being set up from a van. We even saw the vans (which we're disguised as cable company vans). I even went by the next day and they were gone. I have no idea what they we're doing there but it was crazy. Ironically the two wifi networks were labeled as "FBI surveillance van" and "NSA security network". I mean it could have been a prank but I've never seen anything like it before.
@Luke-cp2jz8 жыл бұрын
You can change your wifi name, probably what they did. Unless it was an official FBI van, the NSA is kinda pointless to leave the HQ since it does most things through the internet. People near me have their wifi as FBI Surveillance Van, I doubt it's them though since there are no vans near me and it's always there
@alexcrowder16738 жыл бұрын
Luke The Vampire Slayer I'm sure that's probably the case. Still though, after the vans disappeared so did the wifi. I now work at the shop where the vans were seen and I haven't seen the wifi or the vans before or since. You are probably right that it's not the real NSA or FBI but it's still super weird. I sure can't explain it.

Anna OConner these are captive bred animals, not wild animals. If it were a wild caught individual it would've bitten him and not only that but it's illegal to collect these from the wild in Australia
