It looks like the name brands just licensed their stuff out to other companies not hit by the sanctions and rebranded them for Russian and other EU countries. That place is huge and looks like it turns into a small town every weekend !!! I will say my perspective on Russia has changed a lot since watching Russell's videos !!! If I was a teen in Russia and needed a place to hang out after school or on the weekends this type of mall is where I would be. Here in the states our mall scene is dead.

One reason for these MEGA malls in Russia, China and similar regions is that their economies didnt open up to 'western' influences till these last few decades. In established economies, malls have been built in a gingerly conservative fashion catering for the locations and subjected to the constraints of the time when they were built. Modern technologies and concepts for malls have changed. This happens to everything we see and use. Location availability is also an factor. Older established regions have seen available sites used mostly already. So Mega malls are much less likely. So MEGA mall sites are more common in China and former Soviet Union republics. Indeed, id guess similar in some former Warsaw Pact countries who are now within EU. They also didnt open up to free market economy till the same time as China and Russia. Many from China, eg, when visit US or Europe proper, comment how old these regions look. They don't mean historical sites such as castles. They compare infrastructure eg, rail network, malls and housing in China vs those elsewhere. They however forget that China has built bulk of its infrastructure and modern housing etc in these last 20~40 years. By definition, these would be newer and more advanced in many ways. I am surprised one thimg though tthat this Avia Park doesnt have a Rollercoaster or similar around the beautiful cylindrical aquarium. But who knows it might be in the not too long distance. Thanks Russel from dry sunny hot Perth. Excellent videos.. 👍👍👍

Fun fact! Aviapark is on a large field called Khodynka. A few days after the coronation of the last tsar of Russia (Nicholas II) there was a large stampede on Khodynka that led to the death of 1,300 people. To be fair you would expect the largest shopping centre in Russia to be well maintained and stocked. They are guaranteed footfall, will pull a lot of weight with suppliers. It would be interesting to see how this compares to shopping centers in less major metropolitan areas. If Britain was to fall to shit the Trafford centre would still do fine as oppsed to Cheetham Hill. This isn't to say sanctions are having any effect- just that your not going to see them here regardless.

I’ve asked today as I spotted a disabled toilet in the centre you are in. Why do people love shopping centres, similar in the UK. Людей с ограниченными возможности все же очень малая доля и наверное не так часто их встретишь в торговых центрах, так как удобнее заказать доставку домой. Люди с ограниченными возможностями все же чаще гуляют, скорее всего в ближайших окрестностях и территориях

Are the designers luxury brands cheaper in Russia or they are asking the same level of price as in the West? Like $2000 for a shirt. Can the Russian middle class afford these luxury items. I guess they can if the stores are there.
@Octopus-q7x3 ай бұрын
@Elizavetta-v5i3 ай бұрын
Most othe brands are not luxury. We have different brands, al so Russian brands, Belarusian brands, different things from India and of course a lot from China The European brands became more expensive of course, and of course they are more expensive than in Europe because of logistic

..... Do you know Jesus Christ can set you free from sins and save you from hell today Jesus Christ is the only hope in this world no other gods will lead you to heaven There is no security or hope with out Jesus Christ in this world come and repent of all sins today Today is the day of salvation come to the loving savior Today repent and do not go to hell Come to Jesus Christ today Jesus Christ is only way to heaven Repent and follow him today seek his heart Jesus Christ can fill the emptiness he can fill the void Heaven and hell is real cone to the loving savior today Today is the day of salvation tomorrow might be to late come to the loving savior today Romans 6.23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. John 3:16-21 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. Mark 1.15 15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Hebrews 11:6 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Jesus
