@@Aviation101 Josh, your videos are always top notch. Both you and Chelsea handle everything with great coordination and both truly enjoy what you do. Was going back through a bunch of your videos I had not viewed and saw that both you and Chelsea spent some time with Jason at Rebuild Rescue. I have to say I was very disappointed in that. I've been an A&P since 1979 and IA in 1981 and all I can say is that operation is a major accident waiting to happen. Seems that all he is concerned with is taking peoples money and stroking his ego. This is not a dig on either one of you, you both run a top notch, highly respectable, channel and hope to keep watching for many years to come.

Josh, as a fellow (a) pilot (Commercial SEL), who sold his Diamond DA-40 last November and is now plane-less, (b) KZbinr, with my channel started in January '23, and (c) photographer, AND as a long-time NYC resident, I wanted to tell you that your videos are so unbelievably good that I'm in awe. I know how hard it is to make them, and really appreciate what you do. More than one has brought tears to me eyes, and this NYC video was one. I flew round-trip cross country in 2021 and again in 2022 in the Diamond, and it was fun seeing many of the same sights that you showed first in your videos over the same areas, particularly Page, AZ and the Grand Canyon. Thanks for doing what you do!

Great video Josh. Before moving to the Miami area, I lived in New Jersey. One of my favorite places to take people flying was the Hudson River VFR Corridor. Truly an amazing experience that many people never get to enjoy. One such flight was on a Sunday evening, September 9th, 2001. As we flew by the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, my passengers remarked that it was so awesome to see that the tops of those Buildings were about one hundred feet higher than our altitude. Little did we know, those Magnificent Structures would be destroyed two days later.

Awesome video! My first flight lesson was from Teterboro airport - KTEB down the Hudson and back (1998) and I was hooked. I've flown this flight a dozen times since getting my PPL and it amazes me every time! Only circled the lady once, 800'. Fun fact, the first pilot to orbit the Staue of Liberty was Wilbur Wright! October, 1909. With a red canoe mounted underneath his airplane (a modification that made it a floatplane), he took off from Governor's Island and circled at 200 ft. just up to her waist. Left turn and landed back on Governor's Island. A few years ago, I flew down to the Wright Brothers museum, thoroughly enjoyed it and flew back that night. What an incredible experience! When you make the trip, be advised, there are no fueling facilities at the airport and night departures and arrivals are prohibited. I took off just before sunset 😅

When I got my license at KASH in December 2004, I asked my instructor if he would fly the Hudson River Corridor with me. I grew up in South Africa and flew that route on MS Flight Simulator hundreds of times so it was a real bucket-list item. We joined the Hudson at Poughkeepsie and flew all the way down and around the SoL 5 times. I had to fly it, but I wanted to get pics, so my instructor took the plane for 3 turns. It ended up being so much more than I ever imagined, and watching your video was like reliving it again. Brilliant video! Thank you so much!😊

Five times...wow! I circled her one time and Wilbur circled her twice. We both were flying solo. 😂 Speaking of bucket-list items and FSX. Two years ago, I took a mountain flying course in Colorado and landed at Telluride (KTEX) in the Rocky Mountains! What an amazing flight! I learned about KTEX from a mission in FSX.

@@brucegruenbaum I hope you get the opportunity to do so. It's very educational and rewarding experience when you have a local CFI to teach you. I just called the airport one day and asked around and they gave me a few numbers of local CFIs. I learned a lot of fine details that I hadn't been exposed to on the east coast, at sea level airfields. Such as how much more takeoff distance you need. I started to rotate early (which felt normal) and he reminded me that I needed to gain airspeed, which required a longer than normal ground roll. Awesome experience flying in the mountains!

I grew up in Jackson Heights, located in Queens and got my flight training at TEB. The Hudson corridor was a common route to go South and come North from the South due to the TCA back then and now the Class B. Looking down at the city never got old. Especially at night. What always blew me away was flying lower than the Twin Towers known as the Trade Center and looking up at people in the restaurant, known as windows of the world. They were so close that you can see them waving, which would catch me off guard, not at first aware there was an audience, as I would be trying to locate the airport amongst the bright lights and reporting the Twin White Tanks to TEB for landing. I would rock my wings back at the people in the restaurant and it was amazing how excited they were to know that I reacted to them. It was like being on a stage and I was there to give them a show. Growing up in the boroughs on NYC, I took everything there for granted. But as a pilot that flew all the time in the airspace and to many other amazing places that only as a pilot could experience, I thank God for giving me the ability to see things from a perspective that only a very small percentage of the population can ever do. It never gets old, as I find out watching your video.
@redtailpilot Жыл бұрын
TEB was such an incredible place to learn to fly. You had to be on your game in such busy airspace! My first GA flight was TEB Hudson southbound, VZ, Coney Island, Hudson Northbound, TEB. I was hooked. Did that flight twice, then took lessons and didn't visit the corridor again until after getting my PPL a year later. Like you, I always enjoyed flying past the Twin Towers at a thousand feet (below them). I made that flight several times, but never saw people. I guess I was too laser focused on traffic to notice, lol. Right after getting my PPL in '99, I took my two young daughters on that flight and as we paseed the towers, my older girl snapped a picture of them that I charish to this day! My younger girl was sleeping in the back seat, lol. The views of NYC from the air never gets old! In fact, it's my favorite thing about that place (and I don't have many) 🤣 Speaking of the WTC, I remember being up on one of the higher floors (years before becoming a pilot) and seeing the small planes and helicopters flying pass below me. I sure miss those towers! RIP to all who lost their lives as a result of that horrific day.
