My poor dog, wanted to go for a long walk... I tried to deter him, but he trotted his little chocolate self on down the road. We're on the way back home, cause I'm melting and we had to wait to cross the street. Homeboy was marching in place because the asphalt was so hot!!!! LOL As soon as the cars past, we ran across the street and this dog stood in the shaded grass to collect himself before we zoomed down the street home! Even the pets don't want to be out! Mind you, this dog has special "socks" to wear when it's hot to protect his pads, but NOOOOOO... he wanted to act like he "new" and not want them on! He learned today why he needed them! Brought himself right on in and sat on his cooling pad and fell the heck out! Yes sis...it's too hot!

I am from Mississippi and I laughed so loud when you said “the house was wavy “ as we saw that all the time growing up but it was our norm because once you left the house you wasn’t coming back in.. we as children were able to figure out where the good shade spots were and got in them. Over in Arizona, they have been getting temps of up to 118 degrees. It's so hot, people are getting 3rd degree burns from the PAVEMENT in Phoenix. If they fall or sit down, the pavement is so hot, it's burning folks! In Vegas, on a day when it was about 110 degrees. An older gentleman waiting for the bus started to overheat, so he sat down on the sidewalk while he waited and ended up getting burned through his jeans!

It was so hot yesterday, it took my car a good ten minutes after I started driving with the air on full blast to cool down. My sister asked me if I started my car up ahead of time? I hadn’t and I didn’t think to. I’m thinking about it but, that means I’ll have to go outside and come back inside then go outside again. I’m torn because it was like a sauna outside the car and also inside the car. I’m like you, EJ. I’m thinking about staying put, order online and forget the rest. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Here's how I know things are funky: I've been living in Los Angeles since 1976. Southern California. Sun and surfboards, beaches and bikinis. SPF 50. All things Southern California for 46 years. Then, we get to 2023. I realized things were off when Los Angeles (specifically, the San Fernando Valley, which is one of the hottest parts of Los Angeles) didn't have a day in the 90's until *June 30th.* We went the first _SIX MONTHS_ of the year straight where I had to use a blanket at night! Has never happened since I've been here. Don't get me wrong...I love the cold. I was born in New York, so I miss my seasons. The first six months of this year were heaven for me...but was it really just a foreshadower of impending evil? Time will tell...

It's so hot where I am that pidgins were hiding under cars. Just large groups of birds huddled together underneath and when people got in their cars to leave, the birds flew from underneath to the shaded part of bushes and trees. To know that it's hot when the birds are trying to stay out of the sun.

Oh I am a introvert and a homebody and this here heat has affirmed me in ways I can't explain! And we played outside ALL DAY in the 90s. Ain't no way this the same. 🤣🤣 We was riding bikes, playing hide and seek, riding bikes some more and just OUSSIDE. This here? This heat here!? Naaawww man.

I kno Right… I’m in Texas and my grandson wanted to ride his 4 wheeler he’s 3 so I had to explain it to him the way he could understand “when god takes the sun down to the grass then we can go out” !!🤣🤣🤣
