Well done - they look terrific! Considering how pumped you were for time you seemed cool as a cucumber! I noticed Wilson sliding in to the kitchen very stealthy - must of smelt the food! Merry Christmas to Joe, both your families, Wilson and your good self. Hope you all have a magical day - Carrie XO

Those look delicious! I must tell my Mum about them as she loves bakewells and mince pies. The 'two centimetres' bit really confused me, I had to watch it twice to be sure that you must have meant millimetres.. :)

+ciaramcn Oooo yes sorry - millimeters not centimeters! xax

I have zero idea what a mince pie might taste like - I don't know anyone here in the US that eats them. What does it taste like - I know it's meat but I don't know what type of meat or where on the animal it comes from. Sounds utterly bizarre to me! More cocktail videos would be lovely!

+Heather Conrad Heehee! It's not meat (well the old old recipes used meat which is where it got it's name) but actually now they just use animal suet (fat) or vegetable fat instead of actual meat. It's raisins, apple and spices really so it's like a spiced apple and raisin jam inside a sweet pastry! Do you have Bakewell Tarts? I'd have thought they were probably a no-go too! They're an almond frangipan with cherry jam and icing :) So we take the mince meat from mince pies and replace the cherry jam with that to make a Bakewell Mince Pie! They're like a cinammon, almond, raisin, apple spiced sweet tart :) *phew* haha! xax

Oh wow!!! I am SOLD haha ... I won't be able to make these for my holiday but will be looking to purchase some mince meat from Amazon! We don't have Bakewell Tarts here ... the stores where I live are getting some newer items in from around the globe though - which is always my favorite isle! I saw that recipe on your blog last year - but just wasn't sure about mince meat. Now I know! :)

+Heather Conrad Maybe I should do a recipe for Bakewell Tarts too then! :) xax
