When I was taking out the Goblin camp the Hobgoblin leader was giving me a hard time until I remembered I could push him and so I shoved him down a pit with giant spiders. He got mauled by them and even when he killed both of them and dragged his ass out to fight me I just got Eldritch blasted him back down the hole and killed him instantly

@@Broomer52 In the actual Tabletop Rune Knight is an amazing battlefield controller, because grapple and shove has size limitations. Rune knights have the ability to enlarge themselves. He also has shield master which allows him to shove as a bonus action (it's an attack in tabletop otherwise) A not insignificant amount of opponents simply give up the moment a giant angry dwarf grabs them like a rubber duck.

Fun fact: Warlocks can get the Eldritch Invocation "Repelling Blast" which, when you hit a creature with Eldritch Blast, automatically pushes it away from you. This is automatic, has no save, and works even on creatures that are otherwise immune to being shoved, e.g. incorporeal creatures like ghosts. You're welcome.

There is a save. I have many times hit with EB and had them not pushed (or, pulled for the other option.) It won't push / pull on a miss, and there is a save for the push/pull on a hit. Also doesn't work on large creatures, same as shove.

With one notable exception! If you shove Cazador off his own arena, he conveniently still dies but teleports back up to his coffin for you to loot him! Truly a blessing for all us goblins, oh and it makes it easier to save Astarion I guess.

Also the clasic 3-5 levels in Thief Rogue for two bonus actions to shoot your hand crossbows with. I personally like doing 4 levels Thief Rogue and 8 in Beast Master Ranger. Really effective with a raven that can fly around and blind creatures for 2 turns without a save when it hits with it's Rend Vision attack

Might I interest you in the College of Swords Bard, who with an action and some bardic inspiration, can do a shove attack (Melee or ranged, such posibilities!!!) and afterwards, can teleport to their target! (disclaimer: using this technique to push into bottomless pits or lava does not guarantee the safety of the user, who will most probably die upon teleporting)

One of my favorite moment with my buddies (shortly after, they stopped playing sadly) was in the goblin camp. Im the knight and they were both archer and rogue. I went on the second floor (where a few goblin archers were positionned) and my turns were just me picking up the goblins and throwing them down so my friends could have LOS and finish them.

So in my second playthrough I was shoving every useless mob but not bosses (cause loot). Then when it came to Cazador "Wait. Doesn't he respawn in his coffin to get stabbed later? That's GREAT! LET'S SHOVE HIM!"
