Man, I'll be honest, if I ever won the lottery, I would quit my job. But I wouldn't retire. I'd buy a shop and go down to this guy's place in Tennessee and buy most of his cars and restore them. I got a whole lot of ideas. Some will be chalkmark factory spec restorations. Some will be restomods. Some will be hot rods. But seriously, if I won the lottery, within the next 10 years most of those cars would be back on the road and beautiful! They all deserve to be saved. PS - that Chevy Fleetline would NOT get a single coat of paint. Just a couple coats of semi-gloss or satin clear to keep the patina where it's at right now!!

FYI, the Boom Mat is a bit of a scam. We ordered some of that at one point. Super expensive and super heavy to SHIP, Adding even more to the cost. INSTEAD, go down to your local Lowes or HD and buy a roll of ICE SHIELD in the roofing dept. You'll discover it's essentially the same thing. And by buying it by the roll, it's about 1/10 the price of Boom Mat AND you don't have to anty up for shipping. 👍

Is there any concrete evidence that, once the shaker is open, performance increases? I'm sure it does, but by how much, and under what conditions? I've had this shaker mod on my 1979 403, tested it with a series of tape strips to gauge the amount of suction, and was totally impressed. However, that was at a standstill and revving the engine in neutral. The positive pressure given to the open scoop at speed must be considerable, but is there any tests done to measure it?

I was Interested to see the scoop conversion, but not so interested in all the other aspects, especially the old car segment. HOWEVER, these guys managed to make it ALL interesting! Thumbs up for an well meshed mishmash of topics. I was confused though about the hood scoop conversion and then at the end they show you a sweeet carbon fiber cowl!?? But this just muddied the waters. It didn't look anything like the converted piece. So which one ended up on the tribute car? The functional one or the carbon fiber non-functional?? Can the same mods be performed on the carbon fiber piece?
