I just purchased the Bargello ebook from Harbour Publishing and I'm really excited about getting started! I watched your Victorian Step Bargello introduction Crochet Tutorial video last night and you sold me on Laura Pavy's book and designs, Thanks!!! I'm printing out the book right now. I was really impressed with how in-depth and helpful she is on color choice. The Patterns are all beautifully written and a delight to my eyes! Big hugs

Clare, this a great stitch! I have to confess it took me a couple of tries to master it (no fault of your tutorial!! My problem!) I couldn't have done it without your excellent tutorial!! Thank you. Can't wait to make the hat!

I just love this pattern. Thanks so much for this video. I will keep an eye out of the book. It's nice to have a new stitch to work with. I make mostly afghans and am always looking for textured stitches that are easy to adjust to different afghan sizes. Thanks again. Judi Gums

It's official. I'm a crochet addict. I like to watch video before attempting project. The last three nights I have fallen asleep watching your videos. Think I will use this pattern to make a Christmas gift for my psychiatrist. I love the "bumpy" look of it.

Hello, I am so excited to find this free pattern. Crochet Bargello! Very cool. I admire the patterns and color work of Bargello. And often wondered how to replicate the look in crochet. Now I know. I enjoy your tutorials. I am an experienced crocheter and designer and I am always looking out for new techniques and patterns. I made several Gum Drop hats and want to work on the Rainbow shawl next. So much to crochet and not enough time. I have lots of ideas for crochet designs, which you know is a time consuming and sometime frustrating process. So when I want a break I will work on one of your pattern tutorials. Thanks so much for your well organized and thoughtful tutorials. Happy Hooking!

I have asked the designer and Laura said 10 plus 5 if they will work it from the start. Only taking off the first of the ch at the beginning, working their first dc into the 3rd ch from the hook instead of the 4th. hope this helps you :)

I'm looking for a video on a baler, a shawl that is stitched all around to cover up a low cut dress. I would like to have one that fits a 2X size and goes to the waist. it's like a shawl, but it is stitched all around and also goes over the arms.

Claire, if we decide to work ch 2 instead of 3 does that mean we do multiple of 10 plus 4 instead of m. of 10 plus 6 in the foundation chain?

Yes I think it would work for a afghan , but for a scarf it would probably be really stiff

I have been trying to get this forever!! I I’m in my third row and I think I’ve finally got it figured out. It’s always the back loop? Even when you turn it around?
@CrochetwithClare2 жыл бұрын
Hello! Yes, that is correct. You are repeating row 2 for the entire project and that row is worked into the back loop. Thank you for watching.

Couldn't one carry the yarn along the edges if using only two colors? Then there won't be so many tails. I see the need for tails with more than two colors, but with only two, it shouldn't get too bulk, especially if you edge it all with SC?

I have always counted the initial slip knot as a chain because it is counted as a chain stitch as you come back and work the first row of a pattern. I am noticing that you don't count it as a chain on your base row of chains. If the pattern says chain 306, you would actually have 307 the way you count the chains. What are your thoughts?
@CrochetwithClare9 жыл бұрын
+Barbara McPhie Good question, this is just the way i was taught, i have never had a problem with having the extra stitch I dont count the slip know or the chain on the hook :)

I learned how to do this stitch but you lost my interest in wanting to do this several times. It seems like it took you forever to start teaching this stitch. I watched you and you didn't start teaching this stitch until 13 minutes later into the video. I thank you for showing me stitch but your intro is too long.

Crystal Jamison She actually started at 9:23, and you could've easily forwarded the video to the start of crocheting! There's nothing wrong with her giving others helpful advice and tips for this pattern. People who are new most likely appreciate the extra help.
