Yes you can use this to make a circle scarf. Make the foundation chain as wide as you want your scarf ..So make it so that when you put the ends together you have the correct size for your circle) When the foundation chain is long enough, join the start to the end by slip stitching into the FIRST stich. You should have a circle If you have made my Cross stich hat then you will know that after you have joined you have to slip across to the second stitch and do a chain 3 and start you cross stich

Yes make a chain of even numbers , just make sure after you crochet the first row of crochet that you still have even numbers :)

HI Sandy, I think it should be possible, I have never tried it myself, I will add it to the list of ideas :)
@bigsbydog11 жыл бұрын
I have found when I use a hook that was made from a mold, like plastic hooks they tend to have a seam and tend to split the yarn.. But a machined hook such as in some aluminum, tend to be smooth and let the yarn move smoothly with out catching or splitting the yarn..
@bigsbydog11 жыл бұрын
I so so so love this I am going to try this in a baby afghan for my grand daughter. Can I chain an even amount and then double crochet the first row is that what that first row is..I have never seen it done that way before.
@CrochetwithClare11 жыл бұрын
Hi, It means you are missing /loosing stitches. Do you have the same amount of stitches that you start with as you do on your last row ?

Hi Clare: I've been experimenting with the dc foundation and am having trouble with it. I can't seem to identify the stitches to go back into to make another dc. Thanks. Rosemary
@CrochetwithClare9 жыл бұрын
+John Guarnieri Hello Rosemary. When you do the chain before you complete each stitch i recommend putting a stitch maker in the chain after you make it, then complete the stitch, when you are ready to do the next stitch you can see the chain because you marked it with a stitch maker. This is what I did when I learnt, because as you say its hard to remember where the chain is you need to work into :) Hope this helps :)

Hi Clare, lovely work a usual! I love this stitch and have a question about it that hopefully you can answer. Yolanda Soto Lopez and The Crochet Crowd have videos with a stitch that looks like this one but they call it the "criss cross" stitch. Meladora's Creations For Crochet has one she uses in her Birds of a Feather hat that looks like this same stitch and she calls it same as you, cross stitch. I thought you might find this interesting, too :) thx a lot for any help!
