The scene from 05:15 shows actually how smart vegita is. He was not reacting to Trunks remarks, He could sense Goku's true power level. But was more curious on Gohan since gohan also was wearing his Super sayain form similar to Goku's. I think VEGTA knew that goku's confidence was that if he couldn't beat cell his son could.

I always found this episode very telling especially with Vegeta because he noticed something different about Gohan right away his maturity, attitude, presentation, and most importantly his energy. Everything him was just different great observation by Vegeta he knew right away this is not the same Gohan. And as for Madison I like that she's annoyed with Hercule it's very funny. 😂 😂

Vegeta's had a closer look than any other character of Gohan's potential. He's been there during every single fight (or, int the case of Raditz, he was monitoring it) when Gohan's rage has exploded and he's becoming enormously powerful. He's probably got the same idea as Goku that Gohan, sooner or later, is going to be stronger than any of them. I don't think he's got the same confidence that Goku does that he could take Cell, but he probably is wondering whether Gohan is stronger than him, now.

At this point I believe *Vegeta* was telling the truth about being faster than *Goku* because *Vegeta* was training in 300x gravity while *Goku* only trained in 100x gravity

I love how ever since the hyperbolic time chamber Gohan specifically hasn't flinched at a single thing that has happened afterwards. Power levels and attacks that even have Piccolo flinching and Vegeta looking at with concern, Gohan stares at like it's normal.

One of the best fights this arc! Though his Warp Kamehameha brings questions about a certain regeneration plothole, and as far as Dragon Ball Z goes- it's really one of the only *notable* plotholes in the series. However it doesn't take away from the pure badassery of this fight.

Cell: “There’s a small clump inside my head…This makes up my nucleus…As long as that clump isn’t destroyed, my body can continue regenerating…When I self-destructed, my nucleus fortunately remained uninjured…Quite frankly, I hadn’t calculated on being able to regenerate…I was lucky…And even more happily, my body regenerated as my perfect form, even without No.18…And it wasn’t merely my perfect form: I had vastly powered up like Son Gohan…This was probably done by the Saiyan cells, which greatly increase in power when they are saved from the brink of death…And I even managed to learn Son Goku’s Teleportation…So in short, I was able to return here, having become even more perfect. It seems that rather than defeat me, Son Goku has given me several presents.” This is DIRECTLY from the manga, and in the newest movie supervised directly by Akira Toriyama- Itd explained this same way. The reason why people think this must be a translation error is because the funimation dub said that "each cell has its own life force" and they were the ones who said that if ANY CELL survives he can regenerate- but the manga didnt say that- and Akira Toriyama didn't say that. I suggest you read the manga because even direct translations say that if the CLUMP OF CELLS "the special nucleus" in his head survives- he can regenerate. So you're actually wrong!

The real cell games has begun. For me personally my favorite saga that really hook me was the Frieza saga, it is my favorite saga out of every saga of dragonball. I guess it's because there was so much build up for Frieza like they really build this villain up to be the baddest of the bad even in the movies and the fillers build up the emperor of the universe. I think when Trunks said Goku was the only hope around 5:15, Vegeta looked at Gohan because he realized he was at least the 2nd strongest. Trunks and Vegeta didn't master the "full powered" super Saiyan form. The one at which super saiyan 2 is the next step above.

Yha this fight and the android 17 vs piccolo was like the best for me in this saga and then gohan vs cell. I always show people this fight scene as people who never watch or heard of it and don't like it always say all they do is shoot beams at each other and fly but when they see this even when others react to this episode their mind changed about this show.
